“Great atmosphere to make friends albeit a bit overpriced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2012

The clothing optional hotel is 5 minutes from Callego Beach and 10mins to Jalan Laksamana (eat Street). It is a smallish hotel with friendly and obliging staff.

You would imagine such hotel is sleazy and frequented by MBs, but it is nothing like that. The clientele is quite diverse. You have couples who keep more to themselves and singles in 30s, 40s and 50s who just wants to relax and chat with other travelers. We chilled the whole morning by the pool drinking and nude tanning with others and it felt like home only better.

What is great about the hotel is its lenient policy to bring your own drink anywhere in the hotel, swimming any time you like and having inclusive breakfast anywhere as well. I asked the staff to bring breakfast one day to the pool area and it was no problem at all.

At USD80++ (almost USD100 after tax) per night, the quality of room is subpar for Bali standard. The air con does not work well and the lighting is either too dark (dim bedside lamps)or too glaring (white light). It is however compensated by its location and friendly service.

Room Tip: The rooms are located at the two storeys building, the upper rooms will be quiter and those at corne...

Having read some very good and very bad reviews about this hotel, we weren't really sure what to expect. We were kind of fed up with top-notch five star resorts in the Carribean and were looking to try out something new, a new part of the world, a gay place with no children screaming around the pool and their mothers yelling back at them. The hotel being clothing-optional was also a huge advantage:).
Everything turned out to be very nice over there. The amenties, good service, cosy atmosphere. We really got what we were after:), and enjoyed the stay there very much.
Keep up the good work, guys! Greetings from Slovenia

I stayed at Spartacvs in Oct/Nov of 2011 and am now back in Bali and spent the last couple of days there. The first night I arrived last year the staff asked me if I wanted a ride to the gay bars after he was done his shift. What an awesome gesture and that night I made friends in Bali that I still stay in contact with. The staff are awesome. Gary was more than helpful in lending me a towel one day when I was heading to the beach but was no longer staying at Spartacvs. The pool is awesome. I prefer clothing optional resorts and this is a great one. Yeah the rooms are a bit outdated, but to be honest I have stayed at a bunch of places in Bali and unless you are renting a newer villa or staying in a 4 star the rooms always seem to be a bit outdated. I have met many great people at Spartacvs and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be in a comfortable atmosphere while meeting new people. Sure you can go rent a beautiful villa for some private time but I head to gay hotels to make new friends. Mission accomplished!

I am from the US and have stayed at Spartacvs twice and loved it both times. The atmosphere is great, the pool is very nice, breakfast is nice, but the best part is the friendships that I have made while staying at Spartacvs. Both times I was there by myself and met a lot of really nice people. Sure, there are a few things that can be improved.... The hottub needs to be hot - the water is usually just warm or luke warm and not hot tub water hot.... The water pressure could be a little better, but these are minor compared to all of the great aspects of Spartacvs. I really did enjoy my time there and hope to return soon.

One question though to all of you who have commented about "the action" at Spartacvs. In terms of all of the gay/clothing optional accomodations in Bali, do any of them provide more action or a better chance of "hooking up" than at Spartacvs? I am very interested in hearing more about this..... Thanks!

Room Tip: I like the rooms on the first level near the pool.

We stayed at Spartacus for two nights in February 2012 and my partner and I really enjoyed the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of Spartacus.
We have stayed in 5 star resorts all over the world which are great, however very sterile. The atmosphere at Spartacus is quite the opposite. While not a 5 star resort, the guys make you feel welcome and they are very friendly and professional. The rooms are clean, well air conditioned and comfortable. For the price they are a great place to have a holiday.

Room Tip: We had the superior garden room.

It was a bi mistake to book minimum of 7 nights, after triying our best to make something of it, still can not stay any day longer, waisting my time there. So decide to move to other place after 3 days.
Small and very basic rooms, dirty outdoors bathroom with cheapest showergeldispenser and no shampoo.
Very old tiles and awful lights in the room, everything is outdated!
With rainy day had to stay in the room got very depressed
The breakfast was very simple!
It is a shame there are no other gayhotel with better standard, it is a shame for Bali.
My advise, just book a regular hotel or even better a villa with private pool, just for little bit more budget
Now sitting here enjoying our villa, should leave that place earlier,
Now, sitting here en
