“Unforgettable Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

My bestie and I wanted to have a girls-only trip together so when we found a Groupon deal for BNG villas we thought it seemed good after reading previous tripadvisor reviews.

We stayed for 3D2N and we could not have asked for more. The journey from the airport to the villa was not too lengthy and was very comfortable in the free airport transfer provided by BNG. We had intended to take a local tour after collecting an array of pamphlets on display at the airport. The friendly reception staff let us use their landline to call the local tour agencies and even helped us bargain for better prices.

Our villa itself was a dream. Seriously. We walked in with absolute awe at how clean, and visually inciting the villa was. We loved the interior design. Space wise, it was adequate for the two of us. Not too big and not small at all. The pool was spotless, although we wished we cldve spent more time in it, coz we were mostly away exploring Bali. The bedroom was luxurious with balinese-styled furniture. I think our fave part of the villa had to be the bathroom. Call me a mountain tortoise but being able to shower under the stars is an experience I would never forget. Plus one of the nights while showering, it started raining. Imagine that! There are the occasional 'visitors' like lizards and tiny frogs but thats a con of having a open-concept bathroom, one cannot avoid. But if you're not one who likes being that close to nature, then I suggest opting for another room with a less open bathroom. About privacy, we had more than enough of it, as the walls surrounding the bathroom were very high and it felt as if we were in our own house, just that our bathroom was missing half a roof =)

The bed was very comfy and both nights we had undisturbed sleep as the villa was surrounded by paddy fields. So the only sounds u hear, are that of ur own breathing. Every morning the staff would call us just before they bring in our breakfast so that we could freshen up and open the villa door for them. It was a very private experience being able to have breakfast in your own villa without having to go anywhere. I would suggest choosing from the western breakfast options as we found it to be better than the indonesian ones. The staff will clear the food and plates after we leave the villa for the day, so when we got back it would be spotless again.

On our first night we had decided to go clubbing in the hotspots in Bali and the staff, seeing we were two ladies heading out alone at night, offered to call a blue bird metered taxi driver, whom they trusted to bring us out. I felt that they went that extra mile to ensure we felt safe in their country. And indeed we did.

On the 2nd night the staff were very friendly and even suggested we choose from their DVD collection and have a restful evening in the villa before we checked-out the next day. Also, since our flight back was in the afternoon, we had wanted to go shopping in Seminyak. But the helpful staff suggested we go to another part of Bali where we could get a better variety of things, for a cheaper price. She even helped us arrange for a driver to bring us there, wait for us to finish shopping and send us to the airport, at a cheaper price than if we had hired a taxi on our own.

In all we were very pleased with the service at BNG Villas and am looking forward to going back there again. I highly recommend travellers to consider BNG Villas =)

At first glance this place is amazing.. All that u wanted on a holiday.. A nice seculeded private area for your villa with its own private pool and outdoor but dry living area and an out door bath with a spacious bath tub.. Nothing much more to really want on a relaxing holiday.. But as you stay there, you realize the issues at hand.. The place is nice.. At first glance well maintained, but not so true.. The water from te sink and bath runs don't drain out well.. During the rains, water entered the rooms and there is a lot of seepage from the walls.. U've got a ants running all over the place.. The pool is not maintained and the water ain't clear or cleaned..!! We bought a 4D3N stay through Groupon so really can't complain about the cost.. I'll also say that the staff were pretty friendly and I really can't complain about them even if I wanted to.. But I believe the management needs to pull their act together and ensure that the place gets an uplift soon and spends more money to maintain it, if this place has to survive the amazing competition in this area..

This was purchased as a honeymoon gift for my daughter and her husband. in January 2013
It was Groupon Deal. I was totaly misled. The villa they were given was nothing like the one in the photo. They were dated and lacking on upkeep. The outside shower had algae covering the entire wall. I was very embarresed that they had a less than adequate villa, as this was supposed to be a lovely three night start to their honeymoon. If the photo is advertised as the villa on offer, that is the one that should be given. Not at all happy, I would not reccomend these villa's to anybody..

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Over priced, I wouldnt stay there again to be honest. Was ok but I see other places are better and dont charge so much. Make sure you know that you are paying extra $50pn for the peak season where others only charge $20pn. Got weird stares one of the workers. Menu wasnt the best but they had a "hello" book of restuarants that delivered but this deemed to hard for the staff so said they couldnt get through to them, about an hour or more later i got food finally but it all seemed like too much effort for them. Not a good time, but great time elsewhere in Bali, would go back to Bali but not to this Villa, hell no!

Beautifully designed Villa, lovely pool to ourselves, breakfast laid out for us every morning, fantastic open air shower and bathroom and being surrounded by nature all around made this an unforgettable honeymoon residence. Not to forget the supply of DVDs, order-in food from nearby restaurants and the impeccable service. When the staff couldn't arrange for the complimentary shuttle for us to nearby seminyak, they got a cab instead and paid for it!

I won't say its a 5 Star Villa, but it was well worth it. The western breakfast was good, but the Indonesian breakfast could be a lot better. If you do not like nature, don't stay here. Every evening, for an hour between 7-8 the 'Dalur' come out (little flying insects that fly around lightbulbs). It's fascinating, but can be irksome to some. And I saw an amazing gecko the size of my arm on my bathroom wall. But it was more scared of me, and ran off quite quickly. You can have a hot morning shower in the day with the sounds of cockerels or bathe in the night under the stars and the moon. No mosquitoes though, so that was very good.

In gist, I can't wait to stay here again one day.

As tripadvisor doesn't have a "good" option, I've no choice but to give this outfit an "average" rating.

You have to like nature. By this, I mean hearing house lizards clucking away in corners that you can't see, showering outdoors (away from prying eyes no worries) and witnessing black ants (harmless) running up and down the tiles, finding house lizard poop on the toilet seat cover in the morning, or the odd unidentifiable insect at the bottom of the toothbrush mug. If you are squeamish about stuff like that, this isn't the place for you.

The interior is pleasant and comfortable enough, and the exterior of the villa is great with the dip pool, loungers and sofas (in the shade). The kitchen with kettle and microwave is located outdoors as well.

There isn't much to do in the villa but rest, read a book, dip in the private pool and watch tv. They do a free trip to Kuta / Seminyak daily but you have to plan well so that they are actually available to drive you to your destination. You take a cab back and all the cabs knew the road on which the villa is situated. You have to give some basic directions after the cab turns into the road. You COULD walk to Seminyak but it would be a long walk (would estimate this to be about 30 minutes walking briskly in tropical heat).

The reception desk seemed to be staffed with different people each day. Didn't seem too switched on about the package we had bought, or the room service ordered, but they were pleasant about sorting out any confusion. Don't expect too much of breakfast or the room service menu.

Room Tip: Ask for Villa 6 which has its own private pool. Seemed bigger than the others too.

Stayed for 4 days, 3 nights. Staff at BNG Villas were very friendly and resourceful, going out of their way to make our stay an unforgettable one. They helped us plan our entire trip around Bali and made reservations on our behalf. The breakfast service was excellent. The location of the villa, although slightly out of the way from the major tourist attractions, was quiet and calm. All in all a great place for couples and small families to unwind and relax. Remember to bring mosquito repellents, though.
