Umasri Bali Residence is new property having just opened towards the middle of last year. Taxis may have a problem locating this new kid on the block due to the description of the address as per its website and also on this Tripadvisor page. The property is actually located in Canggu (and should not be described as Kerobokan nor Kuta) and I have already highlighted this to the management of the hotel and for them to also perhaps include a map. It is a fair distance from the action in Kuta and Legian but private taxis can be booked by the hotel on your behalf. The hotel also provides transportation by prior arrangement. If you have any problems locating it, have your taxi driver call the hotel and they will provide directions.

The property is modest and is more of a bed and breakfast facility. It is unpretentious and located at the edge of some rice fields and is quiet. This is not the place for night life but for peace and quiet. The property features about 20 rooms configured in an L shaped building and spread over two floors, the ground and 1st floor. The rooms are generously sized with comfortable beds and pillows, efficient airconditioning, flat panel TV, writing desk, small refrigerator stocked with drinks, a tray of snacks, kettle and tea/coffee amenities, wardrobe and hangers, a small safe for valuables and complimentary wife (strong). I was upgraded to a the deluxe rooms located on the ground floor which had immediate access to the swimming pool.

The bathroom featured a stand in shower, toilet, small sink area, bath and hand towels and provided complimentary bath gel and shampoo (pretty good quality).

The pool is of a decent size for laps and very well maintained.....clear water....actually one of the best maintained pools I have seen. Pool towels are provided on deck chairs which line two sides of the pool.

There is currently no restaurant. Communal kitchens with full cooking facilities are located on the ground floor and first floor. Breakfast (American or Indonesian and may be pre-ordered from the staff) is actually cooked here by the staff and delivered to the guests who can then have their breakfasts on the verandah/lanai. Other meals maty be ordered from established restaurants in the vicinity (free delivery based on a specified minimum order)

The property is airy, clean, well maintained and the staff are efficient and polite. Singgih the manager is very helpful and will ensure that you have a comfortable stay and assist you with any holiday arrangements.

Areas for improvement
There was a waste bin in the bathroom but no waste bin in the room itself.
A soap dish should be provided in the bathroom.
There was no drainage hole on the bathroom floor itself and thus water on the floor had to be mopped up.
Two hooks should be provided to hang bath towels.
A hair dryer should be provided in the bathroom.

Room Tip: Get a poolside room

This place is rather new. The room I booked was superior but they upgrade me to super-deluxe. So they gave me a room right in front of the public pool. Love it!
I like this place. It's far from the crowd, which can be a plus or a minus depend on what you're looking for. If you decide to drive by yourself, you need to remember cautiously the road to this hotel, since this hotel reside in the middle of rice field and from the main road, it took approximately 15 minutes alone to reach it.
They offered two choices for breakfast: American breakfast (egg, bacon if you like, toast) and fried rice or fried noodle. It tasted quite good.
The price I paid considered cheap compare with service and what I got when I stayed there. The bed is comfy, the bathroom is clean and luxurious, overall, the hotel is nice and it’s a delight to stay there.

Room Tip: 1st floor is best since it face directly to the swimming pool.
