We dined at Tulip in Seminyak on Saturday 10th December. When we walked in we could not believe it was empty given the already good reviews it had on this site. The restaurant itself has a lovely setting, we sat at a table on the decking facing the pond at the back of the restaurant with fountains and flowers. The prices are very reasonable, especially given the setting and impeccable service we were treated too. The food was, in short, amazing. The chef was the head chef at The Hilton in Turkey for many years, which has influenced the cuisine here. Our entree was a meze plate, which was a selection of 5 dips with fresh warm bread. Each dip was very good and it was hard to pick a favourite. At 75,000 IRD it really was good value. Our mains were incredible. Slow cooked lamb in a tarine with rice was beautiful. Steak, breaded with garlic and herbs was tender and flavoursome. Both dishes were very well priced at 140 and 130 thousand IDR respectively. The whole time we were thinking how can there be no one else in here? The food, the prices and the atmosphere are all great! Given it is only a new restaurant and not in the main strip in Seminyak may be why but still. I can't end this review without mentioning dessert...we shared profiteroles which were divine!!! The cream was just perfect and they were smothered in dark chocolate and sprinkled with pistachios. Just wow. Cannot fault the service of this place either, wait staff were friendly and attentive. We will dine here again and I encourage anyone visiting Seminyak to try it. You will not be disappointed!
