“tranquil setting helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

9 of us went to Bali for a family wedding and stayed here and we all loved it. The location may not be the most central, but by no mean far away. In fact I on purposely picked this as we did not want to be in the middle of the party town (5 of us are over 60, 4 of us over 30). They have a shuttle bus service which makes getting in and out easy. We had 2 two-bedrooms private pool villas right next to each other at the back of the premises, which was great as we feel like we had that end of the villa all by ourselves. The setting of the rooms are as beautiful as the photos portrait. We paid an extra USD 50 a night for an extra bed which was a proper thick mattress on the floor, which was more than we expected (we thought it might be a cheap fold out bed with cardboard thin mattress and squeaky springs!). My brother slept like a log on it. The bathrooms are "open planned", as in accessible without door from the outside (shower, bath tub and loo), but with a lockable door from the bedroom. It took a little while, but not too long, to get used to. I get the reason and convenience of it - walking straight into the shower after swimming in the pool, without getting the bedroom floor wet, or getting chill from the bedroom air con. We arranged to have breakfast cooked in one of our kitchens and ate together. The eggs were a bit overcooked on the first morning, but after some supervision from the mums in my group, the eggs improved as time goes on. You have to bear in mind the staff are a bunch of young girls, very capable as they look after everything, but definitely have room for improvement (as we all do). With 9 of us, we have tasted everything on the breakfast menu, and the dishes we highly recommend are the fried rice and jaffle (banana and cheese toasted sandwich - sounds strange, but it works and very tasty). Go for papaya or watermelon or lemon juice - they are fresh. But orange juice seems to be from the cordial/diluted stuff, not so nice. The staff, oh well, what can I say, superb service. They are always smiling and happy to help. For those of us living in the west, where customer service is rare, this will be a very pleasant experience! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Facility availble in the room include bath towels, beach towels, drinking water fountain (both cold and hot), safe, hair dryer, bath robe, slippers, shower gel etc. The only thing kept me from giving a 5 star rating, was that the bath towels need a bit of updating. The towels were more grey than white, definitely clean (I could smell the detergent), but the colour was a bit uninviting. Other than that, everything was great. Loved it, and thank you to the staff there for making our stay wonderful! x

Having stayed in various hotels in the Kuta, Legian and Seminyak stretch we have to say that Grand Avenue Villas is without doubt the best. From the moment we arrived at the airport we were whisked off to another world we didn't know existed in Bali. The hotel really has everything you could want for that perfect escape from reality. The villa is HUGE with open living and kitchen space parallel to the pool. We loved the concept of the outdoor shower which could be easily accessed after a dip in the pool. The staff were unbelievably friendly and took care of anything we needed even making breakfast in the kitchen every morning. It might not be in the thick of the action but that is the essence of the place and with the shuttle on hand its so quick and easy to get into town anyway. To sum up you have to ask yourself when in life you can be sitting in your living room watching tv and in a split second take a run and jump into your own private pool. Total bliss!

My husband and I had the pleasure to stay at Grand Avenue for three nights during our honeymoon. It was an amazing time from start to finish! The driver picked us up from our hotel free of charge, we were greeted at reception by an amazing team of staff members, and finally we got to see the villa. The pictures are exactly what you get. Beautiful, clean, spacious, etc. etc. It's very private, and the staff members are only a phonecall away should you need them. I really couldn't think of a better place to start our honeymoon! The area around the villa is awesome as well- we used the free pushbikes for a day and explored the rice fields, back streets where we met local children and vendors, and a bit of peace and quiet that you cannot find in Kuta or Legian. There is a shuttle that takes you into Seminyak and it's a short trip. Not an inconvenience at all. We usually spent the day at the villa and went into Seminyak for dinner in the evenings. The only thing I would suggest to improve at Grand Avenue would be the food room service. Not much selection, and nothing really as far as Indonesian foods. The breakfast was nice as it was made for us in our room, but again could use a wee bit improvement. But it didn't really bother us at all as we had such an amazing experience otherwise.
Do not hesitate to visit- you won't regret it. PS I booked directly through Grand Avenue website where they had a great promotion which saved us quite a bit of $$ so check if there are promotions through them directly before booking with another website such as hotels.com, etc.
ENJOY!!!! Kimberly & Ryley from Canada

We booked the Grand Avenue Villas in Kerobokan purely because of the excellent reviews in Tripadvisor and we were not disapointed, in fact the reviews do not even do this place justice. We had read a couple of old reviews that claim that the location was too far from the centre of Seminyak which is pretty funny - because this is exactly why you want to stay here! Seminyak, like Kuta and Legian is pretty noisy and crowded. If you are looking at accommodation right in the hub of things then be warned - you will probably find it a bit crazy with the constant motorbikes, car horns and 24hr building works. The villas are only a short drive away from the centre of this, but in a quieter, country road surrounded by rice paddy fields and other gorgeous villas so it's a much nicer alternative. The free shuttle service that runs every 2 hrs makes it easy to get to the shops and restaurants and a taxi will cost less than $2US (taxi fares are so cheap in Bali!). We don't need to tell you about the beautiful villas because the photos accurately portray them, they have a gorgeous Balinese feel and we loved the private pool. What we really want to tell you about is the incredible service that you will receive as a guest at Grand Avenue, the staff are wonderful! Thank you Gusti, Putu, Diah and all the others for making us feel like royalty. This is what makes a wonderful holiday - amazing service with genuine smiles - nothing is too much trouble and you will feel like the only guests that are staying there. We mentioned one afternoon that we had discovered lovely Balinese ginger tea and.. voila! Ginger tea was delivered to our villa along with delicious fried bananas for afternoon tea. Not only will we be coming back to stay here again but we are telling all our friends that they need to stay here as well.

My wife and I wanted a quiet, relaxing week away in Bali away from the noise of Kuta and the beaches. Grand Avenue was perfect for this. The location was quiet and serene.
The rooms were spacious and definitely had the "Bali feel" we were looking for. The private villa pool was fantastic and whether it was lazying in the pool, sleeping on the deck chairs or reclining on the lounge, it was very easy to relax.
The staff are incredibly friendly, cheerful and helpful. Always smiling, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was simple but served an excellent Nasi Goreng and other meals and it was great to be able to relax while our food was being cooked.
The pushbikes provided allowed us to explore the surrounds and also head to Bali Budda (recommended by the Grand Avenue staff) to enjoy a great variety of healthy Indonesian and Western food.
The regular shuttle bus service provided by Grand Avenue enabled us to easily get into Seminyak if we needed too.
Overall, we loved our experience at the Grand Avenue Bali and definitely be returning.

We have just returned from a one week stay at the Grand Avenue, and look forward to returning there in the future. We would recommend it without hesitation.

Our private villa was a haven, away from the busy streets of Semyniak and Kuta, but close enough to reach easily (and inexpensively) by taxi. Shuttle services from the Grand also made it easy to reach the many excellent restaurants in the area. Our villa and pool were so nice that we regret not having had more time available to enjoy the space.

Above all, our compliments are directed to the staff. They were extremely friendly, gracious in their demeanor, and attentive to our every request. They played a major part in our overall experience.

As for value, we (experienced travellers) could not have imagined a setting so impressive for the rate charged. The linens and the bath products were standard (and certainly consistent with the price of the room), but everything else about the Grand is significantly above average.

A beautiful room with our own private pool and kitchen. The service was fantastic, they went out of their way to help us and make our stay enjoyable. We had a great time and would come back again. Also very affordable with free shuttles to and from the popular areas.
