“Away from the hustle and bustle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

This was the third hotel of our two week stay in Bali. The staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough for you- extremely courteous, would stop whatever they were doing to greet you with a hello and a beautiful Balinese smile. The hotel itself was lovely- clean, simple rooms with everything you needed. Note: Stairs only to the upper floors. The pool area is very pleasant and tranquil- there is a book swap which i thought was a nice touch, pool towels on hand, very nice seating areas, sun loungers- plenty of shady areas. We didn't use the spa, as there was no availability for the times we wanted. There are a couple of massage places just outside the hotel which were great and very cheap. We ate breakfast in the restaurant every morning, best bacon I've ever tasted!
On arrival I admit we were a little disappointed with the location. The hotel was advertised as being in Seminyak- it is in fact in Kerobokan, approximately 3kms inland from Seminyak. We felt this was misleading, HOWEVER... on a visit to Seminyak, we were relieved to be staying further away from the noise, the crowds and general hustle and bustle.
Kokonut Suites has a couple of fabulous restaurants within walking distance- but be careful, the footpaths in the area are not good/ non existent and the road is quite busy- especially at night. There are plenty of taxi's around, probably a safer option if you have small children in your party.

Great service and pretty good location - it's far enough from the hustle and bustle of Kuta/Seminyak to afford you some peace when you just want to relax in the hotel, and near enough to Kuta/Seminyak via a taxi ride.

Stayed for 5D4N, the suite comes furnished with a kitchenette, a medium size refrigerator - great for storing all the large Bintang and Bali Hai beers, we manage to stuff 12 large bottles of beers with left over space for breakfast stuffs.

The furnishings in the room are rather old, there are holes on 2 out of 4 of the dinning chairs - not that it matters much as we spend most of our meal time at the balcony or in front of the flat screen tv. The suite we had was facing the paddy fields and it's pretty breezy, however during our stay there, there was some construction going on next door but surprisingly it wasn't too noisy.

We cooked a few of our meals when we're too lazy to venture out - there are some great restaurants around kokonut suites - Metis was right beside and Sardine is just a minute walk away. I wouldn't quite recommend having dinner in their restaurant (Suka Suka) - we had a voucher for a set dinner and the chicken turned out rubbery and the fish had that old refrigerated smell and overcooked. Breakfast buffet however was decent as they do rotate the menu daily - sausages, bacon, eggs made to order are standard fare, with variations to their local menu.

We planned to spend most of our time in the suite, so we decided to bring along our hard drive and media player - the tv has 2 hdmi socket, which is great for viewing the HD movies on our hard drive. However, there's only 1 electrical outlet near the tv - so if you wish to plug in your ps3/media player/dvd player/laptop or what not, you'll need to bring your mult-plug adapter (they do provide adapters upon request but the 3 nights we were there they ran out of adapters). I would suggest to the management to provide at least one adapter in the suites, as the number of power outlets in the bedroom are also very limited - I had to take turns with my wife to charge our phones.

Overall, the services are excellent, the room is spacious and great (if you overlook some old furnitures). Would definately return - great value for the size of the rooms.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the 2nd floor facing the paddy fields if you want some quiet and privacy.

Booked for 3 nights on Expedia.com and did not regret my choice!
I travelled with my family and booked 2 bedroom suites, the room is humongous, quiet, and very comfortable. They need to touch up a bit here and there (Painting, wall discoloration, etc) but the service make up for it.
All the staffs are helpful, always smiling and courteous.
I would love to stay there again!!

Room Tip: choose a room facing the swiming pool!!

We booked a 7 night stay through Groupon and were absolutely delighted we decided to buy this deal. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out we could not fault this hotel.
Our room was exactly like it looked on the hotel website - we had a good sized one room villa on the first floor. We were collected at the airport in a nice, comfortable, air conditioned car & by a lovely driver who had great English and chatted and made us feel welcome. When we checked in we were greeted with two little coconut welcome drinks.
The hotel is approx a 5 min tax ride from Seminyak Square (taxi $2 maximum) yet the hotel offered to drop us to Seminyak, drivers available of course, free of charge. We got our free car to Seminyak several times during our stay - there was only one evening they could not take us as all cars were out at the airport.
Did we need to even bother with the 5 min taxi ride to Seminyak? Absolutely not as some of the nicest restaurants are within walking distance; Sardine, Sarong, Tulip to name a few.
As part of our package we had a 3 hour pure bliss spa gift included which included a massage, body scrub and flower bath - all were lovely. A regular massage cost about $15 or so - which is not at all bad given it is hotel prices. The salon staff had very little English but never the less were pleasant & able to make enough conversation as you would want at a spa.
The pool is small as previous reviews have mentioned but perfectly formed. We tend to go out when on holiday so only really spent two days by the pool and both times there was only us and one other couple.
The restaurant is great - never busy but has really good food. The Cap Cai is particularly good. Breakfast was consistently good; each morning there was cereal, breads & jams, contintental usuals, Indonesian food and a lady waiting to make you eggs of your choice and then there was a good selection of hot food which was bacon, tomatoes, some mornings there was chicken, mushrooms or beans and other such food.
All in all I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the pool, as with all of Bali, there are buillding works going on near...

Great hotel, price and quality agree. Responsive staff, great location, quiet, clean, large suite we lived in, tasty and fresh breakfasts. We stayed for 7 nights from 27 August till 03 September 2012. Next time we go to Bali, I think we'll choose the same hotel.

I stayed in room 1305 (two bedrooms suite) for 4 days. We love the room, bright, clean and tidy. Just a pity, from the balcony, the view was blocked by coconut trees so just only glimpses of the pool.

Full toiletaries set provided and toilet was clean and tidy too but the towels look old.

There was a big fridge with a pot, microwave, cutlery, bowls and plates provided.

I have a few spiders and big ants visiting my room daily. Probably came in from the balcony.

Breakfast selection is limited/standard. Nothing fantastic.

Pool is bad, water seems dirty with floating debris.

Spa close at 8pm with many times no one was at the counter when i was there.

Overall still quite a pleasant stay at kokonut suite.

My partner and I stayed here here for two nights. It is at the far end of Seminyak / kerobokan and does require a taxi to get anywhere except Metis which is next door.

The rooms exceeded my expectations, we stayed in a 1 bedoom suite. It had kitchen and lounge then seperate bedroom. The fittings were all modern and very clean. Unlike another reviewer we were happy with the tv channel selection. More than most hotels I have stayed in Bali have.

It was very quiet except for a few dogs on the vacant block next door.

Check in was easy and hotel is only 2 stories so not really big.

We caught many taxis from hotel and security guard just waved on down for us never were we charged extra fees for catching a taxi from hotel.

The breakfast was quite small but still provided lots of choices no complaints from us.

Only issues we would say are the lack of water pressure and temperature and also mosquitos. I don't know what could do about mosquitos but just be aware and take your own personal repellant (i used a natural one and worked fine)

We got a great rate and would stay again but if i had friends that were new to Bali i think i would suggest to stay somewhere closer to the action.
