“Needs updating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

I stayed for two nights at this hotel. First the management needs to think about moving the outside big sign to a more prominent place. It is nearly impossible to see it from the road.
Next you just can tell that this hotels need a bit of updating by looking at some small details such as the closet doors do not line up properly, TV remote barely works,.... this is what makes sometimes a difference of one star rating.
On the plus side, the service was excellent, the bed very comfortable, and the hotel is in quiet area.
One more suggestion is to offer some "American" food in the hotel Vietnamese restaurant for families with picky eaters.

The front desk staff went out of their way to be helpful when we unpacked our car in a downpour. A modern-ish decor, our room was clean, though there was some damage to the bathroom ceiling. The beds were comfortable with lots of pillows.
Breakfast was good, generous selection of food including make-your-own waffles, eggs, sausage, quite good coffee, fruit, cereal, toast and more.

I chose the Best Western over some of the pricier choices in Towson recently. The front desk staff were uniformly welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The only off note I detected here is that one of the four "Hollywood bulbs" in the bathroom was burned out and was not replaced during our three day stay. Since housekeeping staff have to turn on the lights to clean the bathroom, they must have seen it.

There is nothing within walking distance of the Best Western, however, so this isn't a good choice if you're relying on public transportation.

We arrived on Monday afternoon strained and tired after long trip. Young lady at the dest was very professional and pleasant. Made us feel welcome and we went to our room which was clean and quiet. Stayed for three days and found the hotel to be a very pleasant experience. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Breakfast was good too. I know if I ever go the Baltimore again this is where we will stay!!!

We arrived at the hotel late at night and found our room to meet our expectations in regards to the price. The continental breakfast was great and the kids loved it. After going back to our room (room 308) to pack up, my wife noticed a bug crawling across the bed. We put it into a cup to examine it and realized it was a bed bug. We looked under the sheets of both beds and found numerous castings or droppings from the bugs feeding on us during the night. We immediately packed all of our belongings and left the hotel. We told the woman at the front desk and she said that they'd "take care of it." She was very nice and told us that the manager wasn't there yet and apologized. We left the hotel and drove to a convenience store and purchased garbage bags. We threw out our luggage and packed our clothes into garbage bags. We washed our clothes multiple times after arriving home. Aside from the bug situation, the staff was friendly and the hotel accommodations were appropriate based upon the price.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Spent one night in this hotel after a long day on the road, but next time I'll press on to the next town. The hotel is a former Holiday Inn (older building) with few amenities, and the walls seem to be paper-thin. The room was relatively clean, although the trash cans hadn't been emptied and the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The only restaurant in the hotel was an overpriced Vietnamese bar/grill, but they offered room service (with an additional $5 charge). Initial issue at the front desk was having to wait for about ten minutes for service, with no other customers in front of me - one clerk was talking to a friend about his laptop and the other clerk was running around like a headless chicken trying to collect paperwork for a large group that had arrived before me. Once she finally got around to helping me, she informed me that the hotel was over-booked on non-smoking rooms, and that all she had available for me was a smoking room on the sixth floor. The large group turned out to be a college sports team, who were located on the same floor as me and spent the next several hours running back and forth down the hallway and shouting to one another. Did I mention the paper-thin walls? The bed was average for a hotel chain, nothing horrible, but nothing too special either. Despite claiming to offer "high-speed internet access" I was able to log on at speeds roughly equivalent to an old dial-up modem - okay for checking small e-mail traffic, but not quite what I'm used to.
