This was our first visit to the Amed region and it's such a pleasant change from the hustle and bustle of Legian and Seminyak. Our villa was very roomy and well appointed, the view was stunning and the staff were typically Balinese - delightfully friendly and eager to please. The meals were good and the prices reasonable. It was nice not to have to pay a surcharge for anything from the mini bar or to have room service and to have free wi-fi that actually worked.
The dive shop staff were very professional and helpful too. The steps up to our villa, all 70 of them, were a challenge in the beginning but proved to be less so as our fitness improved. I would recommend hiring a motor bike because there are no taxis and hiring a car and driver is a bit pricey.
