We had originally booked two nights at the Gopi Nivas Grand Hotel. But that didn't happen. First, they didn't know anything about our reservation and then they said there's some maintenance being done there. So they sent us to Sri Maniya, which is apparently under the same management. Maybe it was all for the best...
We paid the exact amount we had booked for, I think we got a great deal (735 Rs per night for a double room, including all taxes), I think much lower than their normal tariff.
We got a nice room, spacious, with a clean bathroom, clean sheets and towels. We did have an AC unit (didn't have the remote as we didn't pay for it) and a TV we didn't use. The hotel looks new or at least recently renovated. The hallways are long and always windy (which is a good thing). The view was right into a tobacco-stained wall, but that was fine.
The location is very central, right near the temple, at the end of a crowded shopping-road.
Staff is a bit grumpy and kind of forcefully smiling for a tip, we just avoided them and everything was nice.
At first we were outraged because they made us change location and didn't know about our reservation, but it the end, I think it was all for the best and we had a good time here.
