“Please beware of room service orders. Pay only after you have checked the tariffs!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

We stayed for 2 nights in the resort. House keeping needs to pull up their socks. What really upset us was being overcharged for room service. The waiter refused to get our receipt and over charged us by RS2700!!!!! Only after we threatened him did he return the extra money. Apparently the same thing happened to others too! The food is average, the gaming room is small. The swimming pool is good. I wouldn't revisit.

Stayed at Lagoona Resort for 2 nights and 3 days with family and friends from May 28th to May 30th 2012. We reached the hotel around 11:15 PM and due to their strict check-in policies it seems we got a room only exactly at 12 PM.
Moreover for such a big resort there was only one person available at the reception, so we had to wait before our booking could be done.

The Rooms were ok in size but not very clean. You could see dust on the carpets, the balcony was littered with cigarette stubs and to my surprise there was a pair of shoes below the cot.
I had to wait for a long time for an ash-tray but then came to know that people generally don't use ash-trays but use the balcony while smoking.

The swimming pool was small but clean and the kids had a nice time. They have a small play area and are creating an artificial pond where they had around 5 to 6 ducks.
The food at the hotel was surprisingly very good, we enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner which was a part of our package.

Overall an ok hotel comparing the rates, would look for better alternatives next time.

Just wanted to let you know my bad experience at lagoon Resorts, Lonavala…

I was made to wait for more than a hour in the lobby for check in because the rooms were not ready. When I checked in had to wait another half hour as the cleaning was still not over .The Ac was not functioning in the room. had to call HK and get it done. The bed sheets seemed to be old and the dusting of floor carpet was not done.Had to call the HK and had to clean the room. The television set are of old model.Room does not provide a refrigerator. There were mosquitoes in the room. The hotel room service flatly refused me to provide cake or even pastries in room as no such arrangement was possible there. The evening dinner was just average quality and had no variety to offer.

Over all I am unsatisfied with my stay at lagoon and feel that I was too overcharged..

Room Tip: Rooms with pool facing are better than road facing or hill facing

Writing this review while staying currently in the resort itself. My wife and I arrived at the resort yesterday although unplanned. Booked Velvett Country resort at Khandala in advance where on reaching we found it not at all a good VFM option. Searched internet and called Lagoona's Mumbai office in a hurry and booked a Deluxe room for two of us. Rs.13K for 2N/3D (under MAP plan). The resort looks very good from outside. Ample parking and front space. Deluxe rooms are quiet spacious and have private sit outs (balcony). However, nothing too luxurious. TV sets are old 20” old ones with poor reception. I had to change my room initially checked into bcoz of it. Mini refrigerator has nothing inside. No complimentary Wi-Fi services for a standard hotel like Lagoona Resort. Beds are comfy. Some rooms are carpeted some not. I guess new ones are wooden not carpeted. Bathrooms are decent with Kohler fittings and large bathtub. Delux rooms are overall VFM.
Hotel is at a peaceful location which is a plus point. The good part is the food quality. The resort has 24 hrs room service (although not all items of the menu are available all the time). Most of the items we ordered were good in taste and presentation. Room service is extremely late but what comes is good to eat. Breakfast and Dinner were buffet style and part of tariff. We liked dinner. Breakfast was OK nothing gr8. Some of the staff needs training but most of them are prompt to service you. They arrange for DJ and some Live performance of stunt artists. But guests in the rooms are not disturbed by music. They have a pool facility and games room with carrom, pool, icehockey and 2-3 video games machines. Staff is courteous and ready to serve you. We missed having Spa done as they did not have spa person any more.

Room Tip: Before checkin, verify TV reception, view from the room etc. mostly rooms at the end of the lobby ar...

Visited the Lagoona Resort at Lonavala last weekend with family. The hotel is good and looks quite nice from outside. However, the rooms look a bit rundown and especially, the elevator needs maintenance. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. They had a nice games room with a lot of options on offer. The breakfast was elaborate and the dinner was very good. Overall, the food experience was superb. The market is not too far away and the access road is decent except for the last 1.5 kms, which is a bumpy ride. The place is very peaceful. There was live entertainment in the evenings and a DJ, which was an added attraction for those interested . All in all a good weekend experience with family

We had a warm welcome and a super fast check-in, even though we reached slightly earlier than the usual check-in time. The receptionist was aware of our preferences like Kingsize bed and lagoon facing room and promptly guided us to our room on the 3rd floor (topmost). Extremely spacious rooms with all modern amenities like toiletries, tea coffee maker, comfortable bed and mini safe etc. The room also had a lovely balcony which gave the room a more spacious feel. Though the TV is a bit old-fashioned but all sports and entertainment channels were available and we were able to enjoy the Australian Open Tennis too. The variety of buffet was very decent and we enjoyed the food, the restaurant staff was very courteous. The food included Indian, continental and non-vegetarian variety. The buffets are priced a little higher at Rs. 500++ per person and it would be a better deal if they were included as a part of the tariff only. Recreation options could be increased as they were only limited to a pool table, table tennis and swimming pool. More indoor games could be added and some entertainment for younger kids could be added too. Since we stayed only for a night, it was fine by us but for people staying for longer duration, some more entertainment options are a must. The DJ music coupled with the stuntman show added to the fun in the evening, but could have been for a longer duration. The check-out was equally prompt and since we had requested for a late check-out, the staff was very obliging and accepted the request without disturbing us every now and then to vacate the room. The bathroom was spacious, nice and clean and had a bathtub. Though the inside access road to the resort is slightly bumpy and stretches for 1.5 kms, but its still worth staying here as the resort is very peaceful, has decent views and serves good food. What more could you ask for on a weekend getaway?

Room Tip: Higher floor and lagoon-facing are best rooms.

Was looking for a quick get away over a weekend. the rooms are slighly over priced and a bit rundown though overall well maintained. There is a decent games room with a TT, air hockey, pool, fooseball and carrom. The attendant is friendly. The food spread in the buffet inclusive in tariff was average and quality was strictly ok. However, the food ordered in room service was really nice and quite made up for the long wait that the hotel took in sending it over to our room. Their restaurant was quite incapacitated to handle the large crowd over the weekend and their staff untrained for the rush. The swimming pool wasn't clean enough to tempt you to get down and swim.
Overall, the experience was plesant.
