“A Gigantic Monument...Proud to be around the Structure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

Gol gumbaj is a very influential Structure even today. I visited this historical place many times. Last time in April 2012. It is astonishing that Such a big structure and dome stands without a single pillar to support the dome. I really wonder the excellent knowledge and construction skills of the Mughal rulers in India. the greenery around the Gol Gumbuj is so wonderful. The best thing is that one can go for walking in morning 6 a.m. inside the area around gol gumbaj. The daily pass is 5 rupees and yearly pass is Rs.40. A walk around the gol gumbaj made me proud and so happy to see myself near such a big structure in the serene atmosphere of early morning. The garden area is well maintained by the concerned authorities. It is worth visiting place and a must for the kids to learn the rich historical contribution by the Mughal Rulers.

“Absolutely fascinating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Look out for the "magic" - from the gate, the Gol Gumbaz looks like one building with a dome. Walk closer, and you realize it's two buildings, the front one flat on top.
To reach the whispering gallery you have to find the hidden entry in the dome and climb up seven floors. The climb is hard on the legs and unfortunately the narrow walls and ceilings are covered with uninteresting graffiti of local visitors' love life. But it's totally worth it. The view from the dome is beautiful. The Whispering Gallery is very aweing and every sound is magnified tremendously.
Go early to avoid the regular school visit and the crowds that will deafen you in the Whispering Gallery. The museum isn't as great as the dome, though.

“what a superb site!”

Pure magic - go early to avoid the crowds! Some physical exertion is required to climb up the narrow stairs to the whispering gallery. The views of Bijapur from the outside are magnificent.

“Awe inspiring”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

Quite the most incredible building with attractive gardens. The dome of this mausoleum is a marvel and the whispering gallery a treat. The people are so very helpful. From the outside the dome looks enormous and on the inside the space is vast. The climb up to the whispering gallery is steep and narrow. Be careful. Go opposite to Hotel Sanman for a great meal afterwards.
