“CAUTIOUS TRIVENI HOUSEBOAST: WORST CREW”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

BE CAUTIOUS OF HOUSEBOAT NAMED TRIVENI
We had booked this houseboat through internet seeing good reviews. we went from allappey. we were around 20 of us.Triveni is 6 bedroom houseboat, prabably the biggest of all.
Our experience was not that great because these crew members spoiled all the fun. they would interrupt for everything keeping their sad faces. Staff in there was very worst.. Instead of being friendly they troubled us throughout. They wont swith on Ac. They dont speak to you properly. They ask you to close the windows. They ask to switch off the music system by 10 because they have to sleep early. There was no dish connection when we asked him switch on the tv.Next day morning the captain wanted to leave us back as early as possible eventhough the timing was till 9 00. The reason he gives is traffic. The worst crew u will find on this boat.we paid around 40000.still the service was very bad.. If the crew members were good then it was ok. for our bad luck we got them.
People dont choose this houseboat named Triveni.

“Alappuzha - the best place in Kerala”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

I was in Kerala about 8 years back and had traversed the land from Trivandrum in south, going up to Calicut in the north. Visited Kovalam, Kollam, Kottayam, Munnar, Ernakulam and Alappuzha. The backwaters at Alappuzha are serene, quite and beautiful. Took a motor boat for 4 hours and the driver was good enough to take us to spots where normally tourists do not go. We had coconut water in the middle of the lake, saw small boats being repaired - amazing little canoes, built without a single nail!!! And the height of the trip was the next morning ferry ride to Kottayam through the actual backwaters - the ferry is like a bus on water, stopping at various villages on the way. An experience which non of us will forget.

“Heaven on earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Its a must visit -at least once in a lifetime- for those who are not from here. Alleppey and Kumarakom are the places to start on your backwater exploration. A kettuvallom is a great option to stay.

“Backwaters - Couple of Hours boat Ride”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Just a day trip...or maybe a sunset trip is sufficient. We avoided the houseboat thing since we had a little kid. for 350 bucks an hour, you can go around the backwaters on one of the local boats.
