Cheap and cheerful, oozing with character and charm. The place feels like once of the houseboats that everyone goes on here at Alleppey, built out of bamboo. Perfect for one night. Alleppey itself is not a particularly nice place to visit, just where people board the houseboats. The restaurant waiters and tuk-tuk drivers here are much more pushy and exploitative than other Kerala cities, not a nice attitude. Don't hang around in Alleppey unless you have to.
