“Feels Nothing!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013 via mobile

Me and my friends went to hot kitchen for a good veg taste. But there was nothing special . We ordered masala dosa and it was below average. Ask for juices but not there and disappointed!

“Amazing curry for very good price.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

We broke one of our traveling rules by eating lunch here 2 days in a row. The A/C room (which we were very keen on in the middle of a hot day) is a bit simple and has 6 tables, so the other reviewers are right in terms of not a place to go for atmosphere. However, the room was cool and it was used by locals, not just the few of us westerners who found our way there.

The food was very tasty, genuine and nicely prepared. The first day we had the thali that all the locals seemed to be eating - cant go wrong for R65 (the inflated a/c room price). Flavours were amazing, although the rice, popadoms and bread were the main substance - everything else was small chopped veg and sauces. It did seem to be all you can eat, and they keep coming round with little buckets of different things to top you up until you say 'no more'. The thali isn't on the menu so just ask for it - it's what almost everyone there was eating. It's a very nice way to fill up on amazing flavours.

The second day we ordered 3 or 4 dishes off the menu to share. These were a lot more substantive in their vegetable content and absolutely delicious. With bottled water and chai this was still only R220 for two people - bargain and great quality.

I could probably eat there everyday!
