“best place to relax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

a small hotel with personalised services. The infinity pool was the best overlooking the Vembanad Lake. Lots of activities available like cycling, table tennis, carrom, badminton (outdoors), DVD on rent, boating in the lake (I recommend at least a 2-3 hours boat cruise which takes you into the channels. The staff is helpful and the single restaurant is staffed by expert hands and their service is very prompt. There are no shops or bazaar nearby so do not expect to leave the premises. Pool is the highlight of the hotel and it has a built in Jacuzzi..

Room Tip: All rooms are lake facing

Awesome stay. No noise but just nature around. Gives you a wow feeling with great service by the men at work. To name the guys- Madhu takes absolutely good care of your pool side life & Balu at the reception and finally Antony the man more than a Manager. Do not miss the morning sunrise as it rises from the vembanad lake just touching walls of ur room.Breakfast was great with enough to eat to your taste.Rooms are worth appreciating. Quality assured and privacy for sure if you are with your family. Aesthetics 6/10 so needs improvement. The view towards the lake is soothing to any living soul...so you can just relax even at noon as there is wind by the pool side or at night...Early morning i only saw a video as i woke up by 8....:))) So enjoy The guys absolutely know to take care of you as they own it up and no goof ups or upsets !!!

Room Tip: Let the guys know what you genuinely need and tell them you trust them. The guys own up everything s...

very nice stay...excellent location along with back water...excellent hospitality...and very nice breakfast...its good deal in very reasonable price....only drawback of resort is away from city & nothing for children like play room etc....resort have own deluxe jetty which is also very nice...rooms are big, clean & comfortable..alll rooms window glasses face east which is quietly very well...you can enjoy sunrise...good swimming pool, they have baby pool also...here you can enjoy fishing also..so not to take your fishing rods

Room Tip: try to take room with view of swimmming pool & back water

The location is really beautiful facing backwaters. Rooms are big and comfortable. Restaurant menu is good for breakfast but the dinner buffet needs to improve. Service is good but can improve.A big drawback is that it is away from city.

Location (To Die For): I as a person never get up at 6 in the morning, but this resort made me get up earlier than that, just to have a glimpse of the sunrise. Believe me when i say it has one of the best views. One can just sit for hours gazing at the never ending lake and sip on tea/coffee and enjoy the snacks that's on offer.

Food: Food offering esp vegetarian food (north indian) was among'st the best i had in my entire trip. The menu offerings are decent and a bit expensive which i feel is justified as their location is a bit remote so getting the food items tend to add up to the cost.

Staff: The check-in was smooth and all the staff are polite. The only place they loose marks is once you are near the swimming pool area there isn't any staff to take orders.

Rooms: All rooms are facing the Lake and a done up properly for a good night sleep.

Attraction: Take an hour trip in the evening at the motor shikar boat.

P.S:
1. If you have an SLR, do carry it.
2. Check out the Pics

Room Tip: Room #201 to #206 have great views as they are not obstructed by palm trees.

It was with great expectations that we went to Lemon tree resorts as it was highly recommended by Trip Advisor.
We arrived at the resort on the morning of 1st December 2012. The resort on first appearance was quaint and idyllic and quiet which was exactly what we required for our weekend break. The staff at the reception was extremely courteous. We were showed to put lake facing suite room which was extremely spacious and had lovely views of the lake as well as the swimming pool and was well lit and bright. The attached bathroom had a Jacuzzi as well as a steambath also.
We went and had the buffet breakfast which had continental as well as Indian dishes. There was the fruit juices, cereals, parathas ad assortment of breads, eggs to order etc which was sumptuous though not extravagant and we really had our fill. After that we went to the kids play area which was basic and had a slide, swings and a see saw and also a badminton court but that was enough to keep my 4 year old busy for an hour. The resort also had a table tennis table and a carrom board but the TT bats that was there had definitely seen better days although I am not aware whether there were new ones as i did not ask for them specifically.
We had an ala carte lunch which was tasty and the helpings were definitely generous. The food was tasty though I wouldn’t rate it out of the world and thanks to the breakfast which we had tucked in heartily we were not particularly hungry. I would definitely recommend fish fry as the fish tasted really fresh and it was not too spicy. After lunch we snoozed and in the evening headed for the infinity pool which was of a decent size with the deep end having a 6 feet depth and all of us had a decent swim. After the swim we headed to the cafe and the service out there was superlative with the staff going out of the way to accommodate our wishes and got us some porridge for our four year old son even though it was only a part of the breakfast menu and he took care to prepare it according to our specific instructions. Then we settled inside the room to watch a dvd movie which we picked up from the dvd library at the reception which did boast a decent collection of movies mainly English and a spattering of hindi and tamil. For dinner we had a north Indian fare which lived up to expectations.
After dinner we had a general stroll around and also enjoyed the moon, the stars and the lake at night from the bench which was just outside in our verandah and it was being one with nature.
The next day we woke up to see the sunrise at the lake front. We did a bit of cycling and the cycles kept for the guests were decent and well maintained. There was an option of boating ( charges extra ) and visiting a nearby island but since our son was much more interested in the pool we headed there.
All in all I would rate the resort 5/5 for the courteousness and attitude of the staff, 4/5 for the property with the usp being the rooms are bang on the lakefront, 3.5/5 for the food and 4/5 for the quality of the rooms. At the end of the day we felt relaxed and happy and felt that the money spent was well worth it as it the resort lived up pretty much to most of our expectations and my son agreed to return home only on the promise that we would bring him back.

Room Tip: Suite rooms are nice, well lit and spacious
