“Very old hotel...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

It is on the water, but its the bay side and the pool obstructs any view if you are on the first floor. Old rooms, not good barriers between your neighbors. It is on the cheaper side of the options there and we were driving through, but next time will pay more to stay on the water. Expected more for the price.

Room Tip: Choose the second floor even though you have to walk up the stairs....

Being an older hotel didn't bother us, but it isn't the cleanest, or quietest and the annoying light that illuminates the walkways at night shined right through the top of our curtains making it hard to sleep. The room was smaller than expected as well as the beds. The decor not so appealing. The pool was so so. There were lights in the pool but they never came on. The small quaint beach was nice but I agree with many other reviewers that there are many better places to stay than here. The restaurant staff was great though it is a bit pricey to eat there for the amount of food you get. This was just so so and my husband says we'll never stay here again.

we stayed here for 3 nights while in town to attend a family gathering. the employees were pleasant and efficient and the location is great. the motel is old and hasn't been kept up. our room was clean enough (except for the pair of kids underwear I found behind the bathroom door). our bed and pillows were comfortable. the pool and pool area were poorly equipped and maintained. the pool area is unattractively fenced off from the lawn and all the gates except one were locked the entire time we were there. the beach area was littered with trash and had only a couple of chairs. the parking lot was also littered and poorly maintained. on several nights, the other guests were loud and rowdy in the corridors making it impossible to sleep. we chose this property because it was close to Pensacola beach and was dog friendly. there aren't many places that would accept a dog. we had breakfast in the adjacent restaurant one morning and it was quite good and reasonable. this could be such a nice place if the owners would fix it up. my main complaint is the price we paid for subpar accommodations. someone call Anthony from Hotel Impossible!

Room Tip: upstairs bayview away from the parking lot

Booked this hotel due to the pics. We knew the location was nice since we frequent the area but haven't ever noticed the hotel. It is obviously an older hotel which we don't mind but for $159 average per night there are definitely some issues. We didn't expect too much for that price but we didn't expect to find someone else's underwear in our floor, a toilet flapper that was broken and needed constant attention, and a fridge that was turned up to barely cool drinks off and was missing the knob to adjust it. The air conditioner worked great which was nice and beds were comfy. Other than that this hotel was a waste of money. Thankfully we were only in room to sleep. I guess you get what you pay for and we will save a little more money and stay somewhere else next time for sure.

We just went to Gulf Breeze for the first time for a fishing trip. Despite the little time we spent in the hotel, it was still bad enough to keep us from ever returning. It was very noisy, both by people outside and in the adjacent rooms, and also by the alarm clock going off at 3:00am. The room itself was OK, pretty clean, but the sheets were rough and the pillows flat. The bay view was nice, but there are better hotels on the Gulf for the same price.

As our family live in Gulf Breeze and we visit 3-4 times a year, we have stayed at this hotel quite a few times. There have been several changes of management etc, throughout this time.. The problem that I find with the operators is that they are not very accommodation. A good example is this trip. We decided at a late date to travel to Pensacola as there was a family situation there. We booked through a booking agency and paid a PREMIMUN price for the room for several nights. We were put in a room facing the street, (and the continuing traffic) and found out later that the "rooms with the view" (of the pool and bay/sunset) were mostly empty during our visit. Now I know that there is a "premium" upcharge for these rooms, IF the operators were keeping records they would know that we were "frequent" customers, and seeing that we were paying almost TWICE what we normally would pay, MIGHT have suggested (or given) an upgrade..
(It's the "little things" that count...) Added to that, apparently we arrived at "caterpillar" mating season, and had to discard of quite a few from our room.. Overall it isn't a BAD hotel, to me it just needs some more careful management..

This motel is run down and dirty. Everywhere there is peeling paint and crumbling cement. We had a very nice view of the marina, but that is the only good thing I could say. Oh, and the front desk people were nice. Other than that, I couldn't wait to move to our next hotel. Luckily we had only booked one night here! I would not go back and would tell friends to avoid it!
