“The Zoo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I really enjoyed visiting the zoo here. It's a smaller zoo, but still enjoyable. There are several different animals, both small and large. There is even a section where you can pet the goats as they walk around. Yes, there are bigger nicer zoo's, but I've always have had a good time at The Zoo.

“Unique experience!! Not to be missed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Gulf Breeze Zoo is definitely a uniqkue and fun zoo experience. It is not a traditional zoo but more of a savanah experience with many hands-on activities.

“A fun Day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

The zoo has gone through some very difficult times after hurricane IVAN. Now the new owners have righted the ship and put it back on sound footing. For local residents a season pass is a must if you have young children or grandchildren. For visitors it's a good 1/2 of fun especially the bird cage and the train ride but not in the heat of the day many animals are resting in the shade.

“Always a great time!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

It's too bad this zoo isn't better marketed... it's one of the panhandle's best kept secrets and it shouldn't be a secret! Their website really isn't all that good... it doesn't even list the attractions! I took my two boys ages 9 and 10 and we had a wonderful time! They have a newer exhibit with some kind of small bird (I can't remember the name of the bird and again, their website has no information). When you arrive, you can purchase bird seed glued onto a popsicle stick to feed the birds. This was one of our favorite exhibits. The birds are so friendly and sit on your finger, arm, lap (if you're sitting), head, etc. We also enjoyed feeding some of the other animals... a water buffalo, llamas, giraffes, goats and ducks. This is definitely a must-see for us locals and visitors to the area.

“Needs more Support....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

For a Zoo is a smaller community, I feel this place is really good, and the people are trying hard. However, it doesn't seem to be well promoted. I see in other reviews, people complain that the prices are either "too high" or they "don't like having to pay for kids to go in," and would "like to bring in their own food." These are all statements that they would probably not make a large public zoo such as the one in San Diego, etc.. (And would never think of "bringing their own food to have a picnic..) BUT when the zoo is small, and (seemingly) not supported by the local community as it could/should be; they usually HAVE to make up by charging entry fees for young kids, and charging a more premium price for food, souvenirs etc.. I love the place to tell the truth, and think it probably would do better if it was located in Pensacola (or CLOSER to the city..)
