“Very Nice and Peaceful.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

My husband and I stayed in Lychee, one of the elevated Double Deluxe Bungalows at the Kep Lodge. Sadly, we could only stay for one night...but we really enjoyed the lovely gardens, the tranquility and the very good food and drinks. If you're looking for somewhere laid-back where you can lie around a lovely pool, read a book (or your Kindle) while swinging in a hammock, watch DVDs or catch up with your travel blog, etc...this is the place for you.....there's really not a lot else on offer in Kep otherwise- you can see everything worth seeing in a couple of days. The staff at the Kep Lodge are very friendly and helpful, with pretty good English and the owner, Dan seems like a decent sort. The only minor issue for us was that the (semi-wet) shower lacked a bit in water pressure and we prefer hotter water...but we still hope to return for another stay on our next trip to the region. Note; loud partiers, please keep going to Sihanoukville...leave Kep in peace!

We have stayed numerous times at Kep Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff is wonderful and so helpful. They are simply a delight to be around. The rooms are always clean and appropriately priced. The food is quite good and the views are wonderful. Can't say enough good things about the Kep Lodge. Thanks to everyone there for helping our family always a good time.

Friends in Phnom Penh recommended Kep as a perfect get-away location. Our long weekend was everything we'd hoped for and more. We couldn't believe how beautiful Kep Lodge was, so peaceful after the chaos of Phnom Penh. The staff were excellent, really couldn't have been better. Food and drinks were also excellent, but do ask for the extra wine list as there isn't much offered on the regular menu. The coffee was wonderful! The saltwater pool was wonderful! It's a 4 hour bus trip from Phnom Penh but it's worth it. We'll be back!

The Kep Lodge was our last stop on our three weeks trip around Cambodia. It was recommended by friends who live in Phnom Penh and we were very happy to have made this choice.

The place may not offer a service comparable to five star hotels in Siem Reap or Phnom Penh, but has many fantastic other qualities for a place far off the beaten track, surrounded by an impressive garden setting. There are many different exotic flowers, beautiful butterflies and a great selection of fruit trees on the large landscaped grounds.

Our Bungalow ('Rambutan' I believe) was on the first floor of a two story bungalow building and had a large and comfortable bed (with direct sea view!), and most things required was provided for.

We really enjoyed the sound system with a plug for my iPhone so we were able to listen to our own music while relaxing on the balcony. The huge balcony had a sofa and a hammock with pillows in it. The view was fantastic, with the sunset directly in front next to Bokor Mountain. The resort also provided great information on what to do in and around Kep, with some great maps. Lots of great activities there, like visiting caves, hiking in the national park, eating at the crab market, etc

The restaurant menu has a good selection but is not cheap. However the portions are a good size and the food was generally quite yummy. They have a big variety of salads (try the cold Pasta Salad) which is nice during the hot weather. We didn't try the cheese Fondue, but heard form other guests that it was delicious (maybe not in hot weather)

Once we had an incident where we had no hot water in our bungalow. That was quickly fixed by the friendly Swiss owner, who was around during the evenings talking to the customers.

All in all I would highly recommend this place for a peaceful vacation on the coast of Cambodia.

We went to Kep at the beginning of rainy season when everything seems to be a little less crowdy there. Kep Lodge seemed to be a nice place to stay when we checked possible locations on the internet. When we came there we immediately fell in love with this place. Put within a beautiful garden, the bungalows and rooms feel like being right within nature. The pool is surrounded by big trees and beautiful flowers. Our room was clean, big and had a good bed. The only thing that could have been better was the pillow. Breakfast in dinner was delicious. We had several dishes from the menu, they all were very good. Dan who runs the place seems to be very concerned about his guests and talked to us a lot, giving us good tips, where to go and what to see. We could easily rent a motorcycle and discover the nice places around Kep. The staff is exceptional friendly and does everything to make you feel comfortable during your stay. Please mind, that Kep Lodge is located within what you might call "jungle". There are many animals around the place and also in the bungalows and houses. If you can't stay frogs, geckos or spiders in your room, you should rather get a "sealed" room with AC. We really enjoyed having all those nice creatures around us and felt happy to be within nature. Whenever we return to Kep, we would definitely chose Kep Lodge again!

As I wanted to stay somewhere off the tourist trail, I decided to stay in Kep. Kep lodges was my last choice as I wasn't able to find rooms in my first choice of hotel. Located in a quite neighborhood ad-midst gardens with great view of the ocean, it is a perfect spot to stay if you are looking for some peaceful time

Got to stay at the newly renovated 'Rambutan' deluxe lodge. Clean and new they were quite a luxury to stay in. The lodge was comfortable enough, though I did see some standard rooms which didn't look comfortable enough. The balcony boasts of some most beautiful views of the ocean. It was fantastic, so much so that I stayed in most of the time I spent there.

Amenities were not what I would call up-to-date. But the service was good enough and they did try to help me with every request I had. The only thing that put me off about this place was food.

Room Tip: Deluxe Lodges with ocean views.

I stayed at Kep Lodge for a few days and enjoyed it so much! We stayed at Rambutan, it's a good size room on the second floor, french window next to a big balcony with sofa and hammock. There's another smaller bed against a window on the other side of the room, it faces some fruitful banana trees and the green hill behind. It also has a door connected to the room on the first floor, so it can be good for family travel as well.

The view outside the room was amazing. I'm not a morning person, but woke up early at least three mornings just to enjoy the sunrise in my room. 530am is rare for me!

People there are very friendly local young people, always have a big smile on their faces.

They provide bikes for free so we had a nice ride around the Crab Market.

Would be nice if they can provide fresh juice for breakfast instead of the canned ones, you've got all those wonderful tropical fruits available after all!
