“Very nice and clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2011

Champey Inn is located by the see front with a small privat beach, where you can eat your breakfast or dinner if you like (wonderful sunsets!). It's in a quiet zone, not far away from a few nice fisher restaurants.
It's bungalows are cosy and clean. Maby the could have more light inside, but if you like to read a book you do better near the nice small pool. The staff is tipical cambodian style: they are pretty friendly and get everything for you if you ask them, but you need to ask clearly =)
We would stay again in Champey Inn if retourning to Kep.

The Champey Inn Resort is the best place to stay in Kep! Beautiful bangalows near the beach, great food and very friendly staff. I really enjoyed my stay there and can only recommend it to everybody! :-)

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2011

last time we visited Kep we stayed at Kep Lodge, a beautiful spot upin the hills about 1km from the town centre/vrab shacks/sea. However it was all booked up this time and so having looked around at a few places we splashed out and stayed at Champey Inn. on entering it is well planted has a small pool and lounging area and about 10 or so bungalow rooms. The rooms were on suite with the shower room open air - hadnt come across this style before. The roofs were thatched and from the inside the rooms were a great size and very nicely decorated and finished with artworks and sculptures. It was clean and comfortable and very well situated across the road from the sea front and the crab markets. In fact in the mornings we had our breakfast at a table on the sand across from the hotel and the waiters brought food and drinks to us. We also did this with cocktails at sunset. On the down side in the evenings there was no atmosphere. The place was dark, the bar was closed after sunset. At Kep Lodge there was a much more amiable atmosphere, the staff very friendly and the bar open until guests were in bed. So all in all a nice place to stay but doesnt exude friendliness and warmth if you're looking for a place to hang out as well as sleep. It's also quite pricey in comparison to equal/better places.

Room Tip: try the poolside rooms

The Hotel was nothing like as described and needed complete renovation . It had a decaying smell in the room, furniture was old and in poor condition as was the bed. the fabrics were also worn out .The door to the room from outside would not secure properly and one of the glass panels was broken. The outside area was also in need of upgrading. Things were so bad we left after 2 hours and found alternative accomodation

gorgeous location close to the see front, walking distance from the nicest restaurants. Poor service, bath/toilets pretty dirty. Rooms are nice but some renovation needed....clearly overpriced (66 USD for a double room)

The rooms look great on first sight and to be fair are comfortable. There are a few things that grated though - the locks on the door are just pathetic and hard to use and the doors themselves cannot be closed without struggling with the lock. There was also a large gap under the bathroom door - I have no problem with lizards and gekkos but I am not too partial to the rats whose droppings were evident in the bathroom.
Pool is nice and breakfast OK but I was just a tad underwhelmed considering the price of the hotel. The location is great however being just a short walk to the crab market
