“Relaxing in Kep!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014 via mobile

We were here for 2 nights. What a great place to stay. The staff were amazing, always friendly and helpful. We also ate at the restaurant a few times - with the food some of the best on our trip! Thank you, we will be back again :)

We stayed for two weeks and loved it. Our bungalow was clean and comfortable and cool. Breakfasts are very good with a good range of choices, and more than plentiful. The service is friendly and efficient. Everything was green and flowering even on the hottest days. There is plenty of shade just to sit in and stare. Only a few minutes walk from the sea for the sunset, and you can walk to the national park from the resort. (Turn left and go half way round and then turn back for the shade. A tricky climb to the summit, off the main path, but in the trees all the way.)
The wifi worked well enough for streaming, with hardly any interruptions.
The lime and coconut shake from the restaurant is a meal in itself.
The VIP suites are beautiful! Silk bed covers and hibiscus, frangipani and bougainvilia floating in the jacuzzi.

We chose this hotel because there is only a 10-minute walk to the restaurants at the crab market.
It is conveniently located on road 33a so there can be a little traffic noise. The bungalows are situated around 2 pools in a well-maintained garden. Some are individual bungalows. Others bungalows have 2 adjoining rooms and a few bungalows are located very near the road. People needing total calm, might want to request an individual bungalow away from the road. The beds are rather hard but there is a mosquito net. The bathroom is small and sometimes the hot water is limited. The TV and WIFI worked well.
There is an open-air restaurant with a nice variety of western and Asian food and the prices seem to be about the same as in local restaurants. The breakfast is copious and the service is very friendly and helpful.
Tours and excursions can be arranged at the hotel.

We really enjoyed our weekend at the resort. The bungalows (we were staying in a standard one but visited a superior on as well) are really nice and well kept. The two swimming pools are beautiful and clean. And the staff, including the new manager were extremely friendly and helpful.(e.g. my friend had booked too late her standard room so they put her up in a superior for the same price, and were very apologetic about it!!) We have elected this place as our new weekend hangout.

Great stay at La Flamboyant. Very clean and beautifully designed rooms. Good buffet breakfast (or a la carte if few guests).
Great poolside lounging areas.
One note about rooms: Would be nice to have more separation between bathroom and bedroom. But very comfortable bed.
Central location near the fantastic sailing club restaurant and crab market restaurants. Also a pleasant walk to Kep National Park.
Kep is overall a very mellow seaside town good for relaxing for a couple of days.

This is the second time my husband and I stayed at Le Flamboyant. It is a beautiful resort, quiet and relaxing, located at the food of the Kep hills. It is within walking distance of the crab market and its restaurants, the seaside and the Kep national park. The grounds are very spacious and include two swimming pools surrounded by gardens. The bungalows are well designed and nicely furnished. The clever architecture of the restaurant means the setting is naturally cool and breezy without the need for fans or air conditioning. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is pretty good and includes both western and Asian cuisines. We now live in Phnom Penh and will definitely come again when we want to escape the "big smoke".

Room Tip: The bungalows in the older part of the resort are nicer because the gardens are more established tha...

When we pulled up and into the parking area, I thought it might be a bit more "rustic" than what I was hoping for - but our tour package had booked this location as the accommodations they normally used in Kep were full. We were able to walk from the hotel to Kep in the evenings without any trouble. While the breakfast selection was a bit lacking compared to some of the other places we stayed while in Cambodia - we got to enjoy the afternoon coffee - which became our ritual at 4 PM. I do not know what type of coffee they serve, but it was by far my favorite of all I had while in Cambodia! Also enjoyed Happy Hour after walking to Kep for an early dinner - and we could hear the musician in the evening from our bungalow which was pleasant. No issues with WIFI in our room or at the pool area. There were some ants in our room, but that seemed to only be noticeable on our first night. It was a better experience than I thought I would have based on my initial impression.
