“River views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

We only stayed 1 night but would definitely return. Large room, very clean & great views over the river. We had read comments about the noise from the karaoke over the river but we were lucky & it was a quiet night.
Ray was very helpful & assisted us with booking a car to take us to the Thai border. Would return.

Room Tip: pay extra to have a river view - lovely views

This hotel would have to be the cleanest we have stayed in. Wonderful large rooms. Try to get one with balcony facing the river. The staff were very helpful. The owner Ray, is always around making sure things run smoothly. Top hotel, can recommend.

One of the nicest hotels in Cambodia we stayed at in this price range, great location, awesome views of the river (from the balconies). Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Clean room, warm shower, cold AC. Fridge worked well. TV did not have working english channels. Room safe was not bolted down (could be carried out). Other than that, a very pleasant experience.

This is a very pleasant, well managed hotel in a good location facing the river. Good value for the money, including a great Western-style breakfast. My only criticism was that the hot water in the shower just isn't that hot, which is fairly common in Cambodia hotels.

The best compliment about the hotel is the location.having a beer on the balcony overlooking the river was pure heaven.bedroom very clean with nice bed linen, the only negatives is the trickle of water out of the shower & no elevator, the breakfast is to die for,the best we have had in our travels through the Far East!.

The rooms at the Kampot Riverside are nice, clean and new. The breakfast was big and very satisfying. The owner is helpful.
When I stay at a hotel the only thing that really matters is the quality of sleep. Unfortunately the quality of sleep was not good at the Kampot Riverside. One of the mainstreets is located between the hotel and the river and there is aswell some traffic during the night. The windows of the room were not soundproof and the blackout curtains were not doing the job. Every time someone closed a door even a floor down we heared a loud, sleep disturbing sound, although we used earplugs.
Unless you have no trouble sleeping with noice and without a blackout curtain, I can not recommend this place. We moved to Mea Culpa, where we slept much better.

Room Tip: If you decide to stay there

Thank you for your feedback.
We have in the meantime been able to have rubber door seals delivered from overseas so the issue with the banging doors has now been sorted.
Unfortunately noise from weddings, funerals or other events is a part of the Khmer culture and not as easy to remedy without spending a huge amount of money, which in return would reflect on the rate we would have to charge....
In Kampot everybody has the same challenge and it's luck of the draw as to where these events pop up, luckily it only lasts for a couple of nights at a time..!

Can't speak highly enough of Kampot Riverside Hotel.

Stayed there 4 nights with family - absolutely perfect place.

Great location with riverside views near old bridge - great area to sit on balconies and do bit of people watching and see sunset with boats returning from day fishing.

Lovely rooms (spotless) fan/aircon/fridge etc.

Really was great big delicious breakfast.

Ray and staff run a great place - always friendly & obliging - cannot recommend it enough & can't wait to return :-)
