“Small and friendly place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012 via mobile

I stayed for 3 days to see Kampot and the surrounding area. An ideal base where I felt very much at home. Mary makes nice pies and cheesecake. You can sit out front and watch the world go by. I also rented a motor bike. Overall a good experience and great value.

This place is fabulous.... My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights and felt right at home from the minute we arrived. We took the room on the top floor which was a great size for us and with a long balcony looking out over the river and the bokor mountains it was just beautiful and an ideal place for us to relax. The room itself was clean, comfortable and cozy with dressing tables and hanging space for our stuff. Norm, the owner, is just great! He was so welcoming and made us feel really comfortable, happy to chat to us and was really nice person to be around - and you must must must try one of his delicious homemade pies! All in all we had a wonderful stay.... after travelling for a few months in busy places Kampot was an ideallic place to relax and this accommodation really made it for us. It would definately be a place we would go back to and now only feel sorry that we didn't stay longer!

Room Tip: The penthouse type room on the top floor is very spacious and has a great balcony

This place and his owner is just unique... more than that! Norm runs his lovely place in such a charming way that we even had to return during our six week stay in SEA. Staying at his place is not only being a guest, it's more like diving into the relaxing scenery of every day life in Kampot - while staying at the comy veranda watching the day passing by you feel like you could stay there for weeks... and months... and...
Norm (and also his neighbour and friend Payep) is extraordinary supportive and even offers a cool and individual written guide for the town. Don't forget to try Norm's famous home made kampot pie! We'll be back as soon as possible. Thanks for the beautiful time!

stayed for 2 nights at this new cozy bed&breakfast run by kampot long-timer norm (who had little garden bar before). the place is in a street next to the riverfront (near little garden guesthouse) with views of bokor mountain from the balconies. 2 smallish but clean and cozy fan rooms with ensuite (hot water) for 5$ each, one big rooftop appartment for $10, all with balconies. free wifi available as well. the cafe downstairs which is open from sunrise to sunset offers substantial breakfast and delicious homemade pies!
really worth checking homestay cafe out, also for information on volunteering projects, where norm is of great help. all in all a perfect place to stay for long-term volunteers! really enjoyed my "homestay"!!
