“Great vision. Seasoning needs work.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Had lunch here today & while the menu was inspired by local ingredients & upscale Southern dishes, I was a little disappointed in the outcome. I had the entree of black bean cakes which came with two sides. I chose macaroni & cheese and collards. While the plate was beautifully presented, neither of the sides had much flavor; especially the mac and cheese. The bean cakes were very tasty. I would possibly give it another try but overall I was disappointed in the food. Atmosphere & service were great.

“Favorite Southern inpired food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2010

Great food with Southern influence. Good wine list; outside seating very pleasant; overall one of the top restaurant in Greensboro.

“I have been a fan of the Quaintance...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2010

I have been a fan of the Quaintance restaurants for years but have not visited this restaurant in years. I was horribly disappointed. The food was average at nest, more what one would expect of a chain but not as good. Service was also marginal, slow and inattentive. The first table we sat at on the patio wobbled. The server said she had no idea how to fix it and moved us. The music was very loud and was apparently comprised of Southern old blues and country. A complaint resolved nothing. Quite pricey for what you get and definitely not romantic. A sad loss as this restaurant was a favorite in the past. I'm sticking with Proximity and Green Valley and will not return.

“Food was awful; collards contained ham hock bone. Gross! Management didn't care.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

There I was, at Lucky 32, all set for a nice, nouveau-Southern lunch. I love Cobb salads, so I decided to try the Cobb. When the dish came, it looked like the ingredients had fallen on the floor and someone had scooped them up and put them on the plate. It tasted terrble, as if the turkey were bad; I sent it back and ordered the catfish. The catfish came to the table looking wonderful. However, the thicker part was undercooked and rubbery. What a disappointment. But the worst was yet to come. There, hidden under the collards, was an entire ham hock. Glad I saw it before I chomped down on it. The chef had just been talking to the man at the table in front of me, telling him how business was good in spite of the economy. So I asked the waitress to call him over, whereupon I showed him the ham hock in the collards. He looked at me like, who do you think YOU are, and said he "knew" how it got in there. No surprise, no apology, no big deal. To him ,anyway. No reparation was offered for this horrible meal. I even paid for it! Never again! Get a clue, Lucky 32.
