“Had a great time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2010

3rd year in a row we attended the NC Tattoo Convention. Hotel is very nice and the staff is so down to earth and friendly, sometimes with a convention of this type we are treated like aliens but not here we were treated with respect and courtesy! Thank you Marriott!

We were in town to visit some friends and enjoy a Grasshoppers game. This hotel (which I got on priceline) ended up being quite a stroke of great luck! We arrived early and Daniel at the front desk said he could get us in a room on the 3rd floor but that floor was almost full with a family reunion but if we could come back in an hour, he had a better room in mind for us. So, we drove around for a bit. We returned to have a room on the 10th floor with a perfectly centered view of the Hoppers' baseball field. If we wanted, we could have watched the game from our room! We both slept well and I had a great workout in the good fitness facility. The pool and hot tub were also fun. Every staff member we bumped into were incredibly nice and very friendly. Parking was extra though and that is a bit disappointing in a smaller city like Greensboro, but that would not be enough of a negative for me to not stay here again, but be sure to figure that into the cost of your stay.

I am a Platinum member of Marriott, and I stay at Marriott properties pretty exclusively. I have never stayed at a Marriott property that was as disappointing as this one. The location was the only saving grace of this place because it is in the heart of downtown. However, the service was less that horrible, the hotel was obviously an older lower end property that Marriott acquired. The entire property was dated, the rooms were not up to the Marriott standard, and the "restaurant" lacked a lot to be desired. I have stayed in my share of dumps (holiday inns, super 8, etc...) in my lifetime, but I have never stayed at a Marriott this awful.

I would never stay here again!

Stayed here two nights with husband and teenager for a track meet. The hotel decor is dated but other than that all is perfectly fine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds and all is well kept and clean.

I really enjoyed this hotel. I stayed in it overnight while making connections between train and bus to and from Asheville. The room was quite comfortable, although the lack of plugs was a bit of an issue. The hotel staff couldn't have been friendlier and were great about arranging for a cab the next morning so I could make my train connection. As with all Marriott hotels, the vegetarian dining options were slim, but the breakfast was great and the convenient downtown location meant that finding a veg-friendly restaurant was fairly easy. Again, a thumbs-up.

I stayed one night recently for business. Requested a king room but advised none were available. Asked for high floor and given room on 5th floor overlooking a low-level roof. Asked for a room away from vending/elevators and given a room close to elevators and right across from staff service entrance. The room itself was adequate and did not have a flat screen like even Courtyards all seem to have at this point. The bathroom was nice, but small. The bed was comfortable. The woman working at the downstairs bar was social and pleasant. The workout room was nice.

Checked in late and room was freezing. Had to switch rooms as the room never warmed up. Staff handled well but cut into my limited time for sleeping.
