This is an affordable, comfortable, clean, welcoming place to stay in Fort Portal. The food is great, the staff are lovely, and the rooms are nice and quiet! Compared to pretty much any other place in Fort Portal this would be my choice.

Fantastic food. Three-course home-cooked using fresh local produce. Very enjoyable shared dining enables you to get to know new people in congenial surroundings. Friendly and relaxed service by family and staff. Rooms are fine, the best look over the garden but all seem to have a verandah, which is pleasant. Clean with comfortable beds. Excellent gift shop on site supporting local village groups.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking garden

Having spent a very sleepless night in the Rwenzori Travellers Inn I needed a different place to sleep after my 2 day Mini Trek with Kaborole Tours. I turned up at this place on the off chance. I was offered a ensuite double room for 83,000USH or a room with a shared bathroom (shared with only 1 other room) for 50,000USH both had small verandas and the bathrooms looked new.
Hotel is really quiet and the gardens are lovely. They serve dinner around a big table so you get to meet the other guests - fantastic news if you are a solo traveller.
Wifi in the dinning room is really good
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone - I was only disappointed I could only stay for 1 night

We stayed at Rwenzori View Guest House for two nights as part of our travels with Borderless-Travels, Uganda. What a lovely, lovely place in Fort Portal. Our room was very comfortable and came with its own small patio. The highlight would have been the two dinners included as part of our tariff. Fantastic food with European flavours and dishes - even real butter! You eat at a large dinner table with all the other guests - a great way to get to know what other travellers have been up to and experienced during their African travels. It's like a get together of the United Nations. Breakfast was also very good. The guest house also sells locally made and sourced souvenir items of very good quality - woven baskets, jewellery, cards, figurines, etc. We loved Fort Portal and our stay at Rwenzori View Guest House.

Vi had a very good time staying here for one night. The rooms were clean and the mosquito nets in good shape. We opted in for dinner which was very good and high quality! Be aware that unless you ask to eat alone they will seat you together with the rest of the guests. We really enjoyed this concept - since we got to talk with two friendly american girls who were working in the forest studying chimpanzes.

This was our first trip to Africa, and we are so glad that we used Rwenzori Guest House as our base. Ineke was great, running a smooth operation and giving us so much help and good conversation. The food was excellent, but even better was sitting with all the guests each morning and night and having conversations with people from all over the world. We were able to hitch up with car drivers and visit Queen Elizabeth National Park in their car, rather than taking a formal tour. Ineke and her staff are able to recommend drivers and places to stay elsewhere, so you can feel confident and at home. I can't recommend the guest house, and Uganda in general, too highly.

Stayed here for nine days through 'One brick at a time...' and tried out a couple of different rooms. Those facing onto the gardens are the best and wherever you stay here you'll be awoken to a wonderful chorus of local birds and can sit on your patio and enjoy their song. Ineke who runs this guest house is central to the excellent and friendly service - including joining the table for breakfast and dinner and being just so welcoming and informative. For Shrove Tuesday she arranged a Mardi Gras evening around the campfire and for Valentines a lovely party. Local crafts are sold by Ineke from the guest house together with the fabulous Rwenzori honey, also served as part of the lovely cooked breakfasts.
