“Fantastic holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

Me and a friend booked 7 days at Aftas Beach House and can honestly say it was fantastic. The beach house is on the beach and you have the Atlantic Ocean on your doorstep. You can literally step out of the beach house onto the sand.

The location of Aftas is perfect if you want a fabulous view of the sea. It's about 15 mins walk to the village which is an advantage if you want a relaxing, quiet holiday.

Brenda who manages Aftas is a great character and makes Aftas such a success. She is full of good advise and has a wealth of information about the local area. We were lucky enough that she went out of her way to hire a car with us and drive us around further up the coast to some amazing picturesque beaches off the beaten track and to some great places to purchase to bargains. I've been visiting Morocco for over 10 years and have travelled around quite a bit. Aftas beach house I will mark down as one of my favourite places and will definitely recommend.

Where to go as a family seeking a unique and peacefull holiday, far from resorts and stressy life?
We hoped Aftas Beach was what we were looking for. It was - and more to it. Hospitable and genuine Brenda and Mourad accompaigned the marvelous setting - and we came to feel as a part of the house very quick. 11 days here during newyear for us was only to little, and we all came to feel at home at Aftas, and in the cosy town of Mirleft. Delicious food from the berberist, surfing, swimming and listening to the waves, laidback and very original.

I stayed here for almost a week during a 6 week stay in Morocco. I loved it! Set down in a cove away from town on a quiet beach with only a few other buildings, it was a truly relaxing escape. The view is wonderful, the vibe is quintessential beachcomber and Brenda the owner is awesome. This was the perfect place for me to chill out and recharge. The rooms are no frill basics but clean with a shared bathroom. But the hanging out is perfect. This place is all about atmosphere and environment. It was very easy to spend the days lounging about, reading, relaxing, swimming and chatting with Brenda about any and all sort of stuff. She is a really interesting and laid back host and I could have spent far longer here just hanging out. I was super psyched to have found this place and I would definitely go back!

Aftas Guest House is simply a fantastic place to stay in Mirleft. I stayed for a night at the start of a month trip and having seen a fair few places over the month, i decided to return at the end to chill out for a few days. The location is fantastic with an amazing little beach which is really quiet and enjoys spectacular sunrise, sunsets and starry nights. The unique selling point for Aftas however is the hospitality. Brenda & Morad are excellent hosts and go out of their way to ensure everything is sorted (example: Coordinating a search party for my car key which I stupidly dropped on the beach - It was found!!). The highlight for me however was Morad's cooking! Again, having sampled many, many tajines over the month, Morad's were by far the best (& the salads were pretty excellent too). It is a really great place to relax and chill out or to base yourself for exploring the coast. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Room No.3 is a double room with a great view of the sea and there is one single room on the top floo...

Aftas is an amazing place, When i arived after my long journey i was imediatly at peace. I awoke to the sound of the sea lapping outside my window. Beautiful. Brenda is so acomadating and the people that work around her are great. Lovely food both in the guest house and in siied's surf cafe. It doesnt matter how many reviews you read you wont no how truely mind expanding and relaxing it is untill you experience it yourself. Enjoy. :)

Norad, Morat...I think, I hope it was Morad as thats what I called him all our stay which at first was going to be a couple of days but soon became a week because we enjoyed it there so much. This enjoyment cam mainly from Brendas laid back, very helpful and accomodating way and Morads excellent cooking. We had many Tagines in Morocco but none were as good as the lamb and Kefta Tagines he did for us on our first night - unreal!! The location of Aftas is unbelievable, literally on the beach...and what a beach. Never overcrowded, beach football games which I got involved in. The Morocans take their football seriously and the games on the beach can get competitve but so fun and the local guys welcome you and encourage you to play...plus surfing/bodyboarding if you want.

There was a great mix of interesting people staying at Aftas whilst we were there; everyone interacted and bonded well which made leaving even harder. Brenda is naturally perceptive and responds well to needs of the individuals and groups staying there. She arranged a day trip down the coast to Sidi Ifni which was excellent, with Morad there we were able to gain a greater insight into Moroccan and Berber culture.

Mirleft itself is a small town with a nice mix of small restaurants and shops. There are many beaches around all that can accomodate surfing and the landscape is amazing, like something out of a western. Its a short walk from Aftas into Mirleft, one which I always enjoyed because of the photographic opportunities en route. The blue and white colours, landscape and buildings really stays with you.

Our experience at Aftas was the most memorable of all our Moroccan adventures, thanks massive to Brenda, Morad (and Octavian) for making our stay so enjoyable. We would go back again for sure and I hope we get the chance soon.

Absolutely incredible, surpassed all of our expectations. Brenda and Morat make you feel right at home from the start. Delicious food, a little dear cozy place right on the beach. Perfect atmosphere, amazing view, sound of the water right at the window. We took a few trips with Brenda into the local towns, and got to see how the locals live. Got some amazing presents and souvenirs for ourselves and some friends and family back home. Recommend it highly for anyone who wants to relax on the beach and have some nice adventures. Really perfect! We were treated with utmost care and love and attention. Made friends with other guests as well. Very cool people visit there. Amazing! we'll surely go back as soon as we can. Thank you Brenda and Morat!
