“Bravely went kayaking!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

Had promised our daughter and school friend that we would go back so they could do their RYA qualification with 3 Degrees (based in the hotel), 3 days of sailing for them and 3 days to relax and enjoy for us mothers!
Mnarani never fails to please and you come away feeling so relaxed having seen fabulous sunsets and sunrises (if you can get out of bed early enough!), eaten too much food and enjoyed all there is on offer.
We did get adventurous and go out kayaking and our girls had a ball. Hoping to go back again once school holidays start.

Room Tip: Having been in both the Garden and Creek rooms, the fabulous sunrises are seen from the Creek.

After the British and American Governments decided it was not safe to travel to Kenya, and TUI. Thomson and First Choice pan'iced and gathered holiday makers up like cattle to return them to England. I was one who had my two weeks holiday cancelled, I did get my money back £1603.00 in time to re-book my holiday direct. The flight was with Kenya Airways to Nairobi / Mombasa. £601.15. The Hotel contacted me and offered me Residential rates, £32 per night. Total for THREE WEEKS, £1282.15 a saving of £320.00. Tea on Kenya Airways Free Tea on Thomson Airways £2.50. Departure Tax Kenya Airways £0.00 Departure Tax Thomson Airways $40.00 per person. The only draw back is you can stay at your hotel until late and get the 19:00hr flight to Nairobi for the 23:50 hrs flight to the UK. small price to pay an extra day on the beach.
I must admit there was trouble between two tribes, at a non holiday area off Lamu Island. But no more than the stabbings we have in London and the car bomb in Birmingham before I left. I am returning to Kenya in December, so if Thomson wants to cancel my Holiday again go ahead it's your loss. and my gain.
If the Government new that there was going to be trouble, why did't they tell the Kenyan Police so they could stop it. Did you know that in November all will be peaceful and you can return ( Gov Directive) Or you could go to Syria, or Libya, I would recommend sorting out travel insurance and continue your holiday plans. It's Safe on the Coast The only trouble is lots of the hotels have had to close and 17000 staff out of work ( no dole money there, you starve)

Everything was perfect except for the transfer back to airport that almost made me miss my flight as the management keep waiting to convey more people at once despite the huge amount charged on transfer. None the less, it was a great experience as we even got a complentary private dinner. We will return again.

Room Tip: The creek rooms are excellent especially room 36

Henk and Elma made the short stay feel like home:- Very professional yet friendly and caring. The staff were all very friendly- pleasantly surprised when I received a call on the way from the airport in Mombasa to the hotel to find out where we were. Thank you! Due to time constraints I could not use all the facilities available, but will certainly be returning for a family holiday:- The view of the Kilifi Creek and Indian Ocean from my room were so beautiful and tranquil, I could really make it home. Trust that your hotel will soon be bussing with the excitement and chatter of many visitors.

Room Tip: The Creek rooms have a beautiful view of the ocean and activities in the creek:-

Had the opportunity to have lunch at this hotel recently. After a long day of travelling, this was an oasis ! Great decor and the view from the infinity pool is just incredible. I enjoyed the buffet and the service and food was amazing.
Great hotel - wish we had more time to spend relaxing..

We returned from this lovely hotel just over a week ago, and can think of nothing to say which hasn't already been said many times over. Having chosen this hotel based on all the positive Trip Adviser reviews, I was a little apprehensive after reading a couple of negative comments shortly before we were due to travel, however, I needn't have worried as everything was as good as we hoped for. Henk and Elma met us upon our arrival to give a brief introduction, and immediately made us feel welcome. After this, they always made a point of chatting to the guests at least once a day to ensure everything was OK, and to offer any tips and advice we may have needed. All of the staff were very friendly, particularly the animation team and pool guys, who ensured that our sunbeds were ready for us in our usual place each morning! The food was always of a high standard with a good choice of dishes available. On the one occasion where there wasn't a dish to the liking of all of our party (Indian night), the chef prepared an alternative choice. Unfortunately, due to advice received from the FCO, Thomson decided to curtail our holiday, so we were unable to carry out all we had planned, such as the village and beach walks. On the day of our departure, Henk and Elma re-arranged meal times to ensure we had our meal before we had to leave for the airport. They also boarded our coach to wish us a safe journey, and were greeted with a huge round of applause by all - a pretty good indication of everybody's appreciation. This is a friendly, well run, intimate hotel, but without at any time feeling intrusive. I would love to return in the future once things settle down again in the area, and in the meantime hope that everyone connected with the tourist trade in and around Mombasa weathers the storm

Room Tip: Our party was split between creek and garden rooms. While the creek rooms had the view, the gardens...
