“Greenbelt's Living Room -- live music”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2008

Space is tight in Greenbelt. Where do you go to relax, see freinds, have a cup of coffee, catch some wi-fi? The New Deal Cafe!
Live music and spoken word acts, art shows, and dance classes are organized by the Friends of the New Deal Cafe mean that there's always something interesting going on in the area. the lebanese food is great, and there's beer on tap and a good selection of wine.

“Quirky local cafe with yummy Lebanese food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2008

This local cafe and coffee house has been around for 13 years as a volunteer-run cooperative, but finally stabilized in 2007 with full-time professional staff serving Lebanese food. I often order the New Deal Special.

There are performances in the back room many evenings (check the website calendar), but you can always eat in the front room. While the food is good, it can be slow to arrive at times. The beer and wine diversity and quality are surprisingly good. Free wi-fi internet. The art deco Old Greenbelt Theatre is directly across the square; this is a great place to meet for dinner before a movie.
