We stay here at Royal Townhouse , and have for many years . You can`t beat the price and its easy walking to everything , we stay almost every year in Jan. , its an older place and like all us old things it could use some work but all in all its the GREATEST !! , you can even have a room with a fire place , very cool !!

My husband and I travel to the gatlinburg at least once a year. We spend at least one night in a hotel before checking into a cabin. This hotel is one of the nicer hotels we have stayed in on the strip ~ ~ ~ it was very clean and no weird smells!!! We were so impressed that we went back to this hotel after checking out of our cabin and stayed for another 2 nights :-) It is in a good location in walking distance to most anything on the strip. The pancake house across the street is one of the best!

We visit Gatlinburg at least 2 to 3 times a year. A couple of years ago a friend told us about the Royal Townhouse and we tried it. Now, we just wouldn't stay anywhere else. Whenever I call for reservations, Robin Juvinall, the manager answers the phone. She is always professional, courteous, and fills me in on what's going on in Gatlinburg while I'm there. It's like talking to a friend. Then, because it is usually late when we arrive, Erik Mauldin checks us in. He always greets us with a smile, remembers our name and once again makes us feel welcomed. With both Robin and Erik it's like we are visiting friends. They make you want to stay with them . If that wasn't enough, the rooms are clean, spacious, and very convenient to restaurants and shops. They never fail to ask if there is anything else you need or if they can do anything to make your stay more enjoyable.
After staying here the first time, we will never stay anywhere else in Gatlinburg.

Lets start by this hotel is not brand new, however , it is very clean.
The bed linens are always crisp and I was told that the bedspreads are washed once a week... wow.. the pool is on the roof,,, what a view... my family loves the price,, it's more realistic than some of those around it... it is older with dated decor... but worth a try....

  • Liked — the clean rooms, the view from the pool

We began taking our two oldest grandchildren (at the time ages 3 and 5) to the Smoky Mountains in 2006. Because of the convenient location, we chose the Royal Townhouse as our motel. The children loved it and talked about it for months afterwards. They especially loved the pool on the roof as they called it. Each year since when we began making plans they insisted on staying at the place with the "pool on the roof". We have experienced nothing but good, friendly service from the staff and very affordable rates. The building is old and some new decorating, etc. would be nice but it is clean and quiet. I am sure we will be back once again next spring with our two little ones in tow. They will settle for nothing less.

  • Liked — Friendly, courteous staff
  • Disliked — Television didn't have good reception but then who has time to watch anywy?

I called one day before I decided to go to Gatlinburg. I talked
to Robin (very nice lady) and she offered a King room for $59.00
It was our first stay at the Royal Townhouse and I will definitely
be going back for my next visit to the Smoky's,
Room was clean, Air conditioner was great, Refrigerator, cable TV and a large picture window.
If you have time to relax, be sure to visit the top floor deck where the view of downtown is fantastic. The pool is right next to the deck and is a fun place to meet other travelers.
Parking lot is below the hotel and is very convenient. If you have ever visited Gatlinburg parking is very expensive. I . No charge to park here .
We would rate this hotel a 3 star for service and convenience.

We stayed here because we liked the idea of an rooftop pool , plus it was cheaper than some. That's what we get i guess , we stayed in the back building. Our room was small and unlit it had no window in the back and an airconditioner on the wall??? Did not smell however and was semi-clean but the appearence of the motel had nothing royal about it... I would not reccomend it for no one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The pool is another story , it had powerlines running over it and was very very deep! how scarey do you know how much water weighs , it could cave in! Plus in the pool you could here everything said in the office! Loved the view from the pool area though! It looked like some rundown appartments in the bronks... Never Never Never again!
