“Great Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Great Location and Awesome access to everywhere in Gatlinburg!!! We walked everywhere to help with parking in Gatlinburg. Free and covered parking. Kids loved pool area. Great breakfast with a lot of healthy options. Would recommend to everyone!

We stayed in this hotel in May 2010 and again in March 2013. Both experiences were good. During the most recent stay we enjoyed the heated pool, the temperature was comfortable, even though it was only in the 40's-50's the two days we were there. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the employees courteous. Parking is not so great (we have a midsize SUV), however, we LOVE the convenience of leaving the car & walking...the location is great! Definitely get a river room, not a mountain view.

40 members of our family met at the Edgewater April 4-7 and had the most amazing time!! The accomodations were good, and the catered dinner the evening of the 6th was well turned-out and delicious. Everyone at the hotel was very accommodating and willing to help any way possible. The children in our group were well entertained with the pool, and the hotel was in a perfect location for dining our and seeing the town. We are going back in July with hopefully even more family members!!! Thank you Kim, Kimberly, and Debra at Edgewater for a fabulous trip!!!

Room Tip: Rooms face the mountain or the river & downtown. We liked the river/downtown view best.

Let me start by saying that Gatlinburg is very crowded and "touristy", but if you are going to go to Gatlinburg - then this hotel is the best. First, it is within walking distance to all major attractions (aquarium, skylift, space needle, and all Ripley's attractions, trolley stop), plenty of restaurants, and it is directly on the river. However, it is not on the main strip where it is crowded and noisy. It is one block from the main strip and everything is easy to walk to. The hotel is dated but it was clean and had everything we needed. An indoor/outdoor pool that you could swim between both pools, a free breakfast with waffle makers, and on the river (ask for a riverside room and pay a little more - the view from the balcony is terrific). We took a trolley ride around Gatlinburg and the entire family agreed that we had the best location for a hotel. The other hotels were far away from the center or WAY up a hill and it would not be convenient to walk. The hotel staff was very friendly and always working hard. After looking at other tripadvisor reviews, the elevators did take a while but no big deal and the parking is tight but if you stay here you don't have to move your vehicle and walk everywhere. If you are planning a trip to Gatlinburg - this hotel is the place to be!!!

Room Tip: Pay more and get the riverside view!!!

I don’t think we will be staying at The Edge Water again. We haven’t stayed here in about 7 years and it has went down hill.
We arrived at your hotel to find no parking that my crew cab truck would fit in, your staff help me in one parking place and I couldn’t get out on one side and couldn’t unload my truck at all, a lot of people were double parked so they could get out and that made the problem worse. Also the parking decks ended were u need help to turn around.
I asked the staff about other parking and they said, there was no other parking they were full.
There were 3 or 4 people having the same problem in the parking deck but the staff would run from the deck as soon as they could. I stayed and help people back up so they could get out and it was raining and the deck was open were most people had to turn around.
TV remote was broken, worked sometimes real close to TV. but some functions would not work at all.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay in the Edgewater for 4 nights. The location was great - just a walk across street to get to the main drag in town. The jacuzzis (2) and heated pool (indoor/outdoor) were great. The pool really was warm, which was nice for March. The jacuzzis were really great - especially after hiking in the park. The staff was very helpful, nice and attentive. Parking under the hotel was very convenient. Stream in front of hotel with benches is very nice. Breakfast each morning was good, including waffles and fruit, although I wish they had eggs. The room was great - having a balcony was very nice. The fridge was pretty big and the microwave was great. TV was big flat screen Toshiba, very nice. Only complaint was that balcony door was very difficult to open, even after asking front desk for help. Also coffee maker didn't work, but it didn't matter since we got coffee at breakfast. We didn't bother asking for a working coffee maker. Would stay there again. It has everything we need, especially in the cold weather.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing stream/town.

Most of our visit at this hotel was great! It was clean with updated rooms with microwave, refrigerator, and nice TV. and decorated tastefully. It was a very quiet 2 night stay until after 10pm at night on the second night, some tweens took to the outdoor pool (outside of our room)and were very loud. My husband opened the curtain and stood there thinking they might get quieter but instead, he got a rude hand signal from them. He went to the front desk and they promptly took care of it. The continental breakfast was very, very busy both mornings and I kind of felt sorry for the server. He had a hard time keeping up with the hungry guests. I believe they need a sign telling children under a certain age, that they have to have an adult help them. The biscuits and the sausage was hard and I know from observing that it was kids leaving the top of the buffet server opened. I also observed the server showing several how to remove the tongs and close the lid but they didn't listen very well. I was also disappointed that on the website it lists a lounge and restaurant and when we got there, it was crossed out in the guest directory and there was none. All of the staff was very pleasant to deal with and overall we had a good stay. I would definitely stay again because of the quiet but close location to everything.

Room Tip: If you want a nice view of downtown and the river, please specify. I thought all rooms were on the...
