After reading negative reviews on a hotel we had already booked, we searched & booked a 3 night stay at clarion in gatlinburg (mon-wed). Thank you, Crystal, from Clarion, for your patience and help in booking our room at the "last minute"! We were VERY pleased with our stay! Modern, clean, 2 queen-bed room with fridge & microwave. Very comfy bed / pillows. Enjoyed our room at the back of the hotel, facing the pool. Nice, covered pool outside; didn't mind the short walk at all, but might be chilly in the winter. Liked the balcony, the in-room safe, and the continental breakfast. Breakfast eating area not very large; didn't accommodate us on our last morning when a LARGE group had booked a stay. Otherwise just fine! The hotel offered a free lunch for each guest each day of their stay. Choice of PB&J sandwich or Turkey & Cheese sandwich with chips, apple & water. You just had to put your order in the night before. This came in very handy the day we went to the Park. Enjoyed this hotel being situated at the "quieter" end of Gatlinburg's Parkway. Nicely decorated hotel and entrance! Nice employees! Very reasonably priced for what we got. Convenient ice / vending machines. Easy, safe parking. Easy walking access to the restaurants & shops. Just across the street from the Tram. Would definitely choose this hotel to stay at again! L. (indpls.)

Stayed at this hotel many times. Small rooms, light sleeper should stay somewhere off the strip, and do'nt count on breakfast after 8:30AM

This was not the first time we had stayed at this particular property, and it was just as great this time as it was all the others. The rooms were extremely nice and clean. Check-in was a breeze and the location is perfect for Gatlinburg. The pool is heated but is not directly connected to the hotel, so you do have to be sure to cover up when going back to your room. All the staff were helpful and never seemed put off with any questions we might have had

“Great Hotel.”

The Clarion is a nice hotel.

We went there for 2 days while my parents got remarried in Gatlinburg.
The location was great, and the hotel was really pretty. It was clean, new furniture, and the staff was very friendly.

I requested to get the lower level, but they could not do that. That was the only thing I did not like about this hotel.
The 2nd floor was in rennovation, and we were on the 4th floor.

The parking was ok, and the pool was nice. The only thing about the pool I did not li9ke was that it was in like a green room type building.
It was so hot in there. It was cold, and I know having the heater on is good, but not that much.

We stayed to attend a show at the convention center, which is about 2 blocks away. The room was a bit expensive at this time, and apparently the hotel was completely booked. The jacuzzi suites were roomy, with two large tvs, a small fireplace, a fold-out couch and king-size bed, a small fridge, microwave, and a small safe (with a key). The jacuzzi was one of the largest I have ever seen in a hotel room (ok for 2 people) and was clean. The ice machine was very convenient, apparently on each floor.

The rooms and the hallways seemed a bit musty, with a faint flowery chemical smell. Although I hate the smell of smoke, we stayed in a smoking room so we could have a balcony. The odor usually bothers me quite a bit in these places, but it wasn't bad at all here. There are 2 balcony doors that you can open and let the air circulate through, and if you are on the road-facing side, there is a lovely view of a mountain. If you stay on that side, however, be aware that the sound of motorcycles may drive you crazy if you are bothered by loud noises, especially if you stay a weekend night, since the hotel is right on the "main drag" of Gatlinburg.

Breakfast was pretty average for hotels that serve it now - usual fare, plus a couple of hot items. The staff was quite friendly for the most part, especially housekeeping. The hotel charged a $5 resort fee. The self-parking was easy, and we had only a very short walk. There are only a few carts, so in hindsight, I wish I had removed my luggage before check-out time to avoid the mad rush.

There are plenty of decent restaurants with bars within walking distance of the hotel. A convenience store is kitty-corner. Ripley's and several other Americana-type attractions are within walking distance, as well.
