We recently planned our very first Twilight Gatlinburg Girls Getaway and held it at the Brookside Resort Event Center. Steve, the owner of the Brookside Resort went above and beyond to make our trip as amazing as it could possibly be! His staff worked so hard and paid attention to the smallest of details and made every one of our attendees' stays incredible. The celebrities attending our event stayed at the resort as well and each one of them couldn't say enough nice things about the hotel, the staff, and Steve. The grounds are beautiful, the pool/waterfall is gorgeous, and the rooms are large and immaculate! If you are thinking of having an event, don't think twice about hosting it here! The event center is a beautiful addition to this hotel! It was the PERFECT place to have the main part of our event. We will definitely be coming back year after year to have our Getaway at this hotel! I look forward to working with Steve and his staff at making our next event even more successful than this one!

Room Tip: We stayed in the third story rooms. I loved being on the top floor because you could make a pot of c...

Steve and his staff went above and beyond at meeting the needs of our event and staff! Spacious rooms, dazzling views of the brook, and although it was not used, the pool area looked amazing! The event center was the perfect venue for our convention!! Could not have asked for more!! Thank you so much! The Brookside Resort was a pivotal player in the success of our event and the comfort of our guests! Well done!!

This hotel is very old and beds were worst than a lawn chair. Claims to be in walking distance to downtown area, but that's only if you're a hiker. Showers were decent and kids would like the outdoor pool. But there are too many other choices to settle for this one. Hated it.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review of our property, your comments are very much valued. I would like to personally apologize for the unfortunate incidences that you experienced during your stay with us. We continually try to do our very best for all of our guests, but unfortunately, sometimes we do fail.

The hotel is 0.4 mile from the shopping strip in Gatlinburg. I apologize that the walk was too strenuous, however the Gatlinburg Trolley stops on property which could then take you to any of the numerous activites and attractions in the Great Smoky Mountain.

We just re-opened the hotel on April 1 and since then we have upgraded the landscaping, repaved and sealed all parking lots, installed Wi-Fi, repainted the Creekside building, replastered the main pool, installed cabana’s and repainted the grotto – a lot of work for a short period of time, yet I agree with you, we have a lot of work ahead of us. In the plans are installing flat screen TV’s, installing new carpeting and upgrading the furniture to a Smoky Mountain motif embracing our moniker of “rustic elegance”.

Thank you again and hopefully you will give Brookside Resort another chance.

I understand this hotel has been recently re-launched with new owners. Pictures on the web are very deceiving. I will list a few things the new owners need to learn: Customer service is a must, first impressions are everything, smile when greeting people, be enthusiastic about your location and surrounding area attractions - list could go on...

First, the outside appearance - a good power wash and some paint would do wonders. When we pulled into the front office, our first impression was oh boy! What have we gotten into here?
Second, the check-in - Instead of being greeted with a smile, we seemed to be greeted with an attitude. The individual was a young lady with absolutely no customer skills what so ever.

We understand the rooms are old, but clean is what we expect. Now the floors seemed to be in fair condition, the balconies were not welcoming by any means. The second day the maid service came into the room and did not vacuum nor did they make the bed. They just dropped off some soap and towels. After seeing this, I questioned whether the sheets on the bed were actually fresh when we arrived or was the bed just maid that day. Just a strange feeling, the property managers should do some sort of quality assurance check on the rooms prior to issuing out keys.

The breakfast - Hmm, nothing special here. Just a suggested improvement, there should at least be coffee/tea available in the front office as this is also the only location Wi-Fi is available.

All in all - for the price it was not worth it. My family and I would agree that if the cost per night was $60. or less - this would be a great deal. Maybe in the future when renovations happen and proper management/cleaning habits form this could be called a resort. This property has potential!! For now – Stay away or at a minimum, look at the room for yourself before staying/paying!!!

Room Tip: No tips here - look for yourself before checking in. I would have a back-up hotel ready.

We recently stayed in the "honeymoon suite" for our anniversary. The Good Stuff: The room was very large with high ceilings, a fireplace, king-size bed, and a 2 person jacuzzi tub. The brook is just a few feet away from the balcony. The carpet looked new. The staff were all very friendly. The Not-So-Good Stuff: The mattress was not comfortable at all, the ceiling above the fireplace leaked, and I found a silverfish crawling on the bed. Overall, it was a nice place to stay, and the good outweighed the bad.

We travel a LOT, due 2 an employment situation & we were here for 3 wks. Rooms R spacious & homey - ours even had a nice kitchenette. The place is older, but so R we - LOL! ( I am not 1 of these people that thinks "retro" has 2 B a bad word. ) Very quiet, very nice - no problems @ all. Great 4 couples, or families - 2 HUGE pools & lots 2 do! Steve & his family go out of the way 2 make U feel welcome & comfortable!

Room Tip: If U R "extended stay" - ask 4 a room W/ a kitchenette.
