Our family stay at the Mountain Siesta Cabin was enjoyable and fun but not without some concerns. Upon arriving the cabin appeared fairly new and was very well kept and clean. I even commented that my white sox were clean as I walked around the floors. Carpet needs a cleaning but isn't something I would say is filthy or dirty. It is in a cabin so I expect a little dust and dirt. No dead bugs or anything but the deck outside did have some. Easily swept away with the broom inside. Not a big deal.
The place was very clean, well furnished and offered good space. The pool table is clearly too big for the upstairs room but the kids and I made do and unscrewed the poles. Not real pool play but very fun for my son who is 9 and enjoys time with me having our guy moments playing pool in the woods.
The upstairs bedroom is where the kids were. downside there is the bed squeaks like crazy so there's no way mom and dad would have stayed there. The king bed downstairs is fine and the bedding was clean and quite comfy.
The place Lacked instructions for TV/Surround Sound - I am a gear/tech head, so I could figure it out easily but it definitely needs instructions.
Hot tub was powered off at the breaker box which after 15 minutes of looking around and flipping switches we figured it out. Still no instructions, so if you don't have a hot tub at home, then I could see folks having questions. The cover is big and getting it off in a tight space and then putting it back is a challenge at this cabin. Same goes for the Jacuzzi upstairs - need instructions.
Our internet was out and I was in need of access. No one at the office could help other than basic trouble shooting. Again, they called and were to set up an AT&T to come out, but after my call to them I decided to look at the modem and found it was plugged in incorrectly. Again, if it wasn't for my experience and willingness to look at it, another person might be pretty upset with it not working.
Lastly, they only have one set of towels per person. They do have a washer and dryer, but really...could you include an extra set of towels so we can shower while one is being washed.
Overall, I won't dwell too much on the negatives, but felt they needed pointed out to help others who are headed down and looking at this cabin. Be prepared to park on a very steep driveway that's challenging but not impossible to back into. It's the mountains so go figure. Good times were had and we would stay here again, but do note it's important to check out your specific cabin closely. I feel in one respect we got lucky as some others here did not, but we would use Cobbly again.
