“A must Do for any Duke Fans”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2008

You have to be a Duke fan to appreciate this place. It is free and if you bring your own camera you can get your picture taken in the General Lee for $5

“Yee-Haw!! If you were or are a fan of the Duke boys & Daisy you must stop here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2008

If you were, or are a fan of the the Dukes of Hazzard show, this is a must do attraction if you are going to be in the area. Daisy's jeep was gone last visit, but the General was there and tons of Duke memorabilia.

The building is full of scripts, pictures, promotional items from the Dukes of Hazzard show, items you may not have realized existed. You can take pictures by the General with your camera free, there was no charge to enter and look around what could be called a Dukes museum. It is hard to beat free on vacation.

There are lots of Dukes items that can be purchased if you are interested, and it is one of the few places in the area you can get a cold "Big Red" to sip while you check out the displays.

The staff was very friendly and informative. We will be stopping by on our next trip through GB.

“At least we did not pay for this!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2008

At least it was free, that is about the best I can say about this. I loved the show growing up and had heard about Cooter's opening in GB and looked forward to going. We arrived and we were ready to go in 5 minutes. They were not taking pics with the General Lee and no one special was there the day we went. They were more interested in selling you something than anything else. I certainly would not pay for this and I probably would not go back.

“A must see for any Dukes of Hazzard fan!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2007

Cooter's is located on the parkway in downtown Gatlinburg. It is hard to miss--big red building with a big white sign reading Cooter's, and of course the bright orange General Lee "01" Charger parked right out front.

When you enter Cooter's you will enter through the gift shop area where you can purchase Cooters souveniers and "01" merchandise. You can even get yourself a replica of the General Lee. In the back of the building is the "museum", featuring lots of Dukes memorabilia such as tv scripts, props, and just about anything that was made featuring the Dukes. They have everything from lunch boxes to party favors. You will really enjoy checking out all the merchandise and will probably see an item or two that you had when you were a kid. I know we did. It will make you remember the good ole days and how much fun you had watching the Dukes.

Out front of Cooter's you can check out the star of the show--the General Lee. You can also see Daisy's Dixie Jeep, and Cooter's tow truck. When I visited, the sheriff's car was also on location. You can take your own picture taken IN FRONT OF the General Lee for FREE. You can get your picture taken INSIDE the General Lee for a small fee, 5-10 dollars depending on whether you use your camera or theirs. That is still pretty cheap. There is no admission fee to Cooter's. You can tour the "museum" and view all the cars for FREE. This is a must see for any Dukes of Hazzard fan.

Note: If you are lucky, you will stop by on a day when Cooter (Ben Jones) is making one of his regular appearances or other cast members make a scheduled appearance.

“Great and free!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2007

This place is great for any Dukes of Hazzard fan. It costs nothing to go in and browse. Lots of memorabilia in the museum area. The shop area has everything from toy cars to shirts to hats to videos for sale. You can take all the pictures you want. Outside there are the cars from the show and you are only charged if you want the employees to take your picture for you.

Sometimes stars from the show will even be there for pictures and autographs, I guess you never know.

My wife and I enjoyed it. The parking was very slim so we walked (uphill) to get there. We were ready to get out of the heat by the time we go there. Would visit again, but probably not on an annual basis.
