“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2008

We stayed here the weekend of 1/18/08. Like most of the accommodations in Gatlinburg this is an older property. The king size bed was comfortable and I had no complaints with the heating/ac. They could use a few more electrical outlets. We had to unplug the microwave to use the coffee pot. The bathroom was not in the best condition, the ceiling had a hole where a heat lamp used to be, a stained access panel, a loud ceiling fan and the stopper in the bathtub was missing.

Backing out of the parking spaces in front of the property was scary given the limited sight distance and the amount of traffic, but there is plenty of parking on a quite side street to the right of the office. The breakfast consists of cereal, toast, donuts, juice and coffee which you have to carry back to your room as there is no space in the office to sit down and eat.

The location could not be better for walking around Gatlinburg.

“Happy with my stay.”

A fine place to stay in Gatlinburg. Friendly staff, clean room, great location on Reagen Dr. with less than a 2 min. walk to the Parkway right by the Needle but the location is quiet enough. I got a 4th floor room in the east building with a balcony and covered parking with the advertised amenities in fine working order. Plenty of towels, bathroom was of a reasonable size, pleanty of hot water, no problems with the AC/heat and reasonably comfortable twin Queens. You won't mistake it for a Hilton, but I didn't want to pay for a Hilton anyway. No check-in/checkout issues, they even let me park at the place well before before check-in(you have to have a pass, otherwise you WILL be towed. I saw it happen twice!). I'm only in a hotel room to shower & sleep when I tour, and this was a perfect place for me to come back to after a day of walking, hiking, driving, etc. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip. Good job, EconoLodge!

“Cozy room just off the parkway!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2007

This hotel has changed names over the years but for the several times I have stayed here, it just keeps getting better. As you will find with most of the hotels in the area, they are all older. Econo Lodge bought this from what was known as the Reagan Inn a few years ago and remodeled everything a little to update and bring a more modern feel.

Our room had the jacuzzi in the room with a view of the space needle and mountains. The rooms are all very large with tons of space and just a block off of the parkway. You can walk to anywhere you wanna go on the strip.

This is a great hotel for couples or even families with several children with all the space in most rooms. The price is usually pretty cheap and you wont leave dissapointed.

“Best Value in Gatlinburg”

We have been visiting Gatlinburg for over 30 years, several times each year. I don't know how we came to miss this hotel until now! We had an absolutely fabulous room. It was impeccably clean. The room was extremely spacious. Though it was just my husband and I - the room had a King & Queen Bed, a sleeper sofa, gas log fireplace, a large jacuzzi tub (right by the King bed), a seperate tub & shower area, a large 25" color tv, microwave and fridge! Our room was on the second floor, there was a ramp but no elevators. But I don't see this as a drawback in any way. The room isn't on a creek and there isn't really a view to speak of, but it is just too clean, comfy and convenient for words! I highly recommend this hotel. We have already made reservations for two future visits! It is between traffic lights 7 & 8, just behind the space needle. Very centrally located! I believe a continental breakfast was offered, but we didn't make it there.

  • Liked — The very large, spacious room, fireplace & jacuzzi
  • Disliked — I have no complaints at all!

“terrible”

We look for economical rooms because we spend alot of time hiking, and sightseeing. The room was small, dirty, and when we turned the blanket down on the bed, first I saw hair on the pillow (bad enough) looked at the sheets, 10 or 15 more long black hairs. The sheets were pressed into the shape of the springs of the mattress so it was obvious the sheets had not been changed from the last guest. It was 10:00 p.m. and the desk clerk told me to bring the bedding up, and she would swap it out. When I went to the office, she didnt have any clean sheets, so she took me to the laundry room to get clean sheets. I would camp in a tent before I would stay here again. Thank goodness I travel with lysol spray. This room needed it and then some!

It is regretful you did not enjoy your experience while staying with us. While our housekeeping staff, like any other housekeeping staff, is not perfect, we most certainly take great pride in keeping our rooms clean for our guests. Thankfully, experiences like these are very few, far and in between at our establishment. It would have been better had the desk clerk just simply moved you to another room if you questioned its cleanliness, and I will definitely take this opportunity to speak with my front desk staff about what to do when and if something like this happens again. Thank you for relating your concerns using this fine travel service, and rest assured we will use your criticisms to improve our services for future guests.
