“Romantic, cozy, perfect mountain retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

The lodge is a hotel like no other. You are greeted at check in by lovely staff that give you a tour of the grounds and let you know first hand what the lodge has to offer. The atmosphere is perfect. Each suite is luxurious.... The bathrooms are amazing, with sunken tubs and rain showers. The beds are cozy and the fireplace is the perfect touch. Some units even have wood burning fire places!

The restaurant is first class and delicious.

Beautiful views from every suite.

For the price, you really can't beat it. It's a wonderful place!

Our family of three (including our five year old) had a phenomenal experience at the Lodge at Buckberry Creek. The lodge provided a rustic hunting lodge feel with all the modern amenities. The front desk and restaurant staff were welcoming and the service was top notch through out. Of special note are the extras you can order. This was my wife's birthday weekend trip, so I ordered fresh chocolate covered strawberries that were waiting in our room refrigerator. We also got the s'mores package. When we were ready for s'mores, the front desk clerk started our personal fire in the firepit by the main lodge. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a getaway weekend to Gatlinburg!

We stayed here in November 2013, everything was wonderful -- rooms, food, service. Great location overlooking the Smokies, peaceful but short drive from Gatlinburg. Lots of character, nicely done out, and there is a lovely short walk down to a creek in the grounds of the hotel itself. Only gripe was that the continental breakfast that came included wasn't up to much, and paying 10 bucks to top it up from the menu was a bit annoying given the price we paid for the room. Still, the view that came with breakfast made up for it.

Loved staying at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek. Comfortable room with wood burning fireplace and rustic cabin atmosphere. Breathtaking views of our room's balcony. Great location near Gatlinburg and the entrance to Smoky Mountain National Park. Complimentary continental breakfast in the lobby was nice and of good quality. Would definitely stay here again!!

We held our Retreat at Lodge at Buckberry Creek in Gatlinburg. It was beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and have a rustic charm.
I had the Continental breakfast but several of us ordered from the menu. The dinner at the on-site restaurant was wonderful. Everything was exceptional.
The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. This was my third or fourth stay at the Lodge at Buckberry Creek. I have never been disappointed.

I stayed in the gallery suite with my boyfriend for five days this winter. Very cold weather and it was even snowy but great smoky mountain view was definitely breathtaking. The taxis are very expensive so drive your car if you plan to go to hiking at farther places or there are a couple nice trails close to the Sugarland visitor center.

The room was VERY well designed. Balcony view was beyond my expectation even in the winter. I guess the property owner has a very good taste. The restaurant offered free continental breakfast which was basically nothing. The juice was fresh though. You can order a la carte and I strongly recommend the buckberry omelette. Dinner was served in a fine dining ambiance. Great food but slightly pricey compared to other fine dining options in Gaitlinburg.

Definitely recommend trying the buckberry trial starting from the yard of the inn. It's .5mile and leads to the pavilion which is a super nice gathering place with a large fire place. We also had gas fireplace in our room and we considered it the highlight of the room.

The service was ok. The reception women were not the nicest but polite.

This is a beautiful, isolated inn that, if you want to be alone, and commune with the spectacular surroundings, is just perfect.
The rooms themselves are all different, and full of VERY interesting things. A real joy.
The dinning room food? Wouldn't know, since they thought my girlfriend and I were gay, they wouldn't serve us. Just made us wait.
But all in all, I loved this place. Wear your wedding ring.

Thank you for your review, and high regard for our Lodge. It is unique, and we are glad you enjoyed it! Regarding your wait for seating in the restaurant… We highly recommend reservations every night we are open. Even in the “slow” season, our small restaurant will fill up. The accusation about discriminating due to anyone’s lifestyle and/or orientation is incorrect. We treat ALL our guests the same, and do not look for ANY reason to give less than stellar service. That being said, you were asked to wait for a table because the restaurant was fully committed, during that very busy night, at the time you wanted to dine. We suggest that you come back and dine with us, this time with a reservation, and enjoy a delicious relaxing meal – wedding rings or not.
