“Comfy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Room was clean, bed and pillows were very comfortable. Coffee pot, microwave, and fridge in the room. Free wifi that was acceptable but a little slow. Located within walking distance from downtown (maybe 4 - 5 blocks). Cereal and prepackaged cakes (honey buns, Danish) for breakfast waffle machine not working. Microwave in breakfast area older model and difficult to operate. Management not very accommodating. Room condition, comfort, and rate were such that I would definitely consider staying there again if in the area.

Room Tip: Our rooms were in the building across from the office building.

This place is a dump. Matresses from who knows when, ive never checked for bed bugs until I entered this rat hole. The carpet is old and stained. The rooms on the bottom floor seem as though they used to be a parking area and they remodeled it to make additional rooms. The walls are cender blocks covered with wall paper. The door latch is broken. Everything inside the room is at least 20 years old. The tv is an old 24 inch box tv. The shower doesn't drain, within 1 minute your standing in 6 inches of water. If your a classy individual dont stay here. Im pretty sure a requirement to stay here is you must be in a relationship with your sister. There's nothing king about this place, its the roach coach inn. We are out of this dump in the morning. Everyone that rates this place higher than one star is definitely a hill billy redneck. If you pay anything to stay here your getting robbed. I wouldn't give this place away! Take my advice stay away.

What a great place to stay! We have stayed at the KIngwood Inn for many years and will continue to go back every year! The Staff is amazing, the atmosphere is very friendly, within walking distance of downtown, very clean, and a great pool!! I would highly recommend this motel if you are planning a future visit to Gatlinburg. It's a place that we can go to and still feel like you are home. We love to set out in the rocking chairs and laugh and talk!! Looking forward to our next visit in a few short weeks!!

This motor lodge must have been one of the first places built in Gatlinburg! YUCK. We checked in even though we could tell this was not a place we would normally even consider staying. We were there at a reduced rate to view a time share. We were handed a room key with one of those old school plastic diamond shaped key fobs. We walked up the ramp to the second floor. Definitely not up to ADA code. It also looked like it was missing the previously installed green AstroTurf that is currently covering the attached walkway outside the rooms on the second floor. We thought it was interesting walking past the tattooed people in their tank tops smoking cigarettes in front of each room to get to our room. Then, the piece de résistance, we entered the room. We had to fight back the laughter when we saw the horrid interior! Yes, it was so hideous we could only laugh. The shag carpet was dark green, two of the dark paneled walls were painted white and had cheap flowered wallpaper borders applied at the top. There was a dark brown household style window unit improperly installed above the rinky-dink mirrored sink area. The vanity top was at one time wet or so old that the laminate was lifting away from the particle board and it was swollen looking. The TV was inside an old oak looking cabinet and the beds looked like they were about 20 years old. The proprietors were dressed in jeans and t-shirts and were more interested in the barbecue they were having on the roof of the driveway cover than helping us check-in. The man even answered the phone while I was paying the sales tax for the room by saying "what!", then saw the look I gave him and said, "oh, it's someone I know". Needless to say we were not happy that we pre-paid $199 + tax for this. We got the sales tax refunded and ended up spending over $500 of our fun money for a different hotel.

Very convenient to the main drag ~ close enough to easily walk in just a few minutes but far enough away that it's quiet. It was late at night when we walked back from town & there was a little section before you get to the motel that wasn't lit very well so it was kind of creepy. Not a good internet connection. Other than that our stay was good. The room was clean & comfortable & met our needs. The continental breakfast was well stocked w/a good variety. I also like that the cost didn't break me. I visit Gatlinburg several times a year & I do plan to stay here again.

Great place to stay. Staff was attentive and willing to help with any problems-even if it wasn't their problem. Place was very clean and attractive. Close to the strip but could not hear the crowds. Would stay there again and recommend this place to everyone.
