“good stay, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2011

Stayed in a King suite oct 16-19th. Check in was a breeze guy was very nice, and even let us check in 3 hours early. This hotel is older and needs updating, but overall it was very clean and we had no issues. They do provide a small free breakfast that worked just fine for us. The location is awesome, right in town and across from the main trolley stop. So if your looking for a decent place, that's clean, and within walking distance to everything in gatlinburg, I would recommend staying here. Sure you can pay more and stay at a newer place, but as long as it's clean, it's fine with me. I would suggest asking for a king suite or one of the new suites that have just been remodeled.

Room Tip: Ask for a king suite

We stayed in the small cabin? #100 which was nice but away from the main lodge. King bed in the loft with jacuzzi, very nice. Small living area and complete kitchenette and everything worked but the ice maker. Two TV's, DVR, babbling brook outside. Convenient to everything and the leaves were beautiful.

Room Tip: Cabins away from main lodge but nice for privacy. Also, have 2 bdrm ones. Lodge is across the stre...

Was walking distance to everything. Right next to the aquarium. Watched the trout in the creek from the balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. Have stayed here before and will stay here every time I come to Gatlinburg.

Our church group was registered there Sept 26-28, 2011. Our room (126) was immediately off the car garage on ground level. It could only be accessed by a long unsecured hallway. But that others of our group were nearby, I would have refused the room and location.

The only attraction of the room was a balcony over the creek whereby we could watch and feed the ducks. Our room desperately needs total renovation. The room and 'rippling' carpet had a dank, musty smell; the drapery was faded and needed cleaning.

Our one requested wake up call came late. Others mentioned the same thing. Other than the fact that we were already awake, the call would have been useless. The phone rang one time.

I would recommend this hotel with reservations.

I would like to mention that the town was decked out in fall splendor with corn shocks, pumpkins and beautiful flowers.

My husband and I love coming to the Great Smokey Mountains to get away from life and do so several times a year for the past 7 years. We have stayed in alot of places trying to find the "one", me being the picky one. I love this place and will continue to stay here each time we come "home" having stayed here many times now. It isn't fancy but it is clean, very affordable, and you cannot beat the convenience! Their customer service never fails to exceed our expectations. We love Greystone and cannot wait to come "home" again very soon! Hopefully in mid-late October for the gorgeous changing of the leaves. Anyone who has not been to the GSM, give this beautiful national park a try and you will be hooked! Stay at Greystone at the aquarium and you'll be home! Friendliest people in the world, always make us feel welcome and have even made friends that we have to stop in on to say hello :-)

I have stayed at this hotel many different times starting when I was just a child. I love this place! Perfect location for Gatlinburg attractions, shops and restaurants. It is on the river and the best rooms face the river. Breakfast is delicious. It is a very family-friendly hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Pick a room facing the river if you like the sound of flowing water.
