Parton's is a small deli that serves traditional sandwiches and hot dogs. They steam them so be sure to ask for your sandwich not steamed if that's what you prefer. They have homemade sides as well - deviled eggs, potato salad, etc. They also have a nice selection of chips and drinks. This is a great place to stop if you're looking for lunch for a picnic or to eat by the pool. The owner is very friendly and I get the impression that this place has been around forever. Definitely a Gatlinburg classic.

The hotdogs we ordered here would have been better if not steamed. Once done, they were wrapped in foil and the bun became soggy. Just ask it not to be steamed and it will be great. I would go back, but would now know to say "do not steam."

The owner is a nice as everyone says, he gives great service and the food is fresh. We picked up sandwiches at 4pm to have for a picnic lunch the next day and he packaged everything separately to ensure they would not be soggy messes by the following day. They were great! He even gave us a whole tomato, picked right from his own garden that morning. What is better than fresh garden grown tomatoes???

We found the pumpernickel rolls were too much bread for our roast beef sandwiches, but that is our only criticism and it's a small one.

This is a CASH ONLY patronage, as are many of the small businesses in Gatlinburg, but there is an ATM at the gas station up the road if you don't have it on you. Also, my husband and kids kept the van running in the Hillbilly Golf parking lot and I just ran in. There really is not any parking for this deli.

Support small business and avoid the tourist traps when you can!

Great stop for lunch. Freshly made sandwiches with freshly sliced deli meat. It's a little off the beaten path, so not very busy and an overlooked gem.

When I come to the Smoky Mountains I do my best to avoid chain restaurants and the many stores that sell nothing but items from China. I want to experience the little gems that made the Smoky Mountains what they were in the beginning. Before the tee shirt places and pancake houses took over. I can't tell you how many times I have driven by Parton's Deli without giving it much of a thought. My husband and I were discussing plans for the next day and I was looking for a hidden treasure to eat our lunch. Low and behold we found Parton Deli on TripAdvisor. Nothing but great things to say about this deli. Before my family and I headed up to Chimney Top we stopped here to grab our lunch to go. The gentleman has a small operation there and it is all he needs!! Super nice guy. Great sandwiches. My kids loved it as much as we did! And to know that he has been there making sandwiches for 40 years in this simple deli made me down right joyful! It was a pleasure to support a Gatlinburg classic. We will make this our stop to Chimney Top each year from now on. Don't judge a book by it's cover. It's all about the heart and the history! This man has both...OH and taste!!! <3
