Everything in perspective - the tiny town of Gatlinburg has over 150 restaurants. Unfortunately, many are tourist traps with mediocre food and service. Despite the many choices, this is not exactly the culinary capital of the Smokey's. The Cherokee Grill is one of the top-end restaurants, meaning it is great for Gatlinburg but slightly above-average for anywhere else. The service was very good. I had the Prosperity steak which was cooked exactly to order, well-seasoned, and fairly tender. Wife had a steak salad - fresh greens, generous portion, with small strips of steak. Sides were average at best. Overall the food was pretty good, although not good enough to justify the price. We enjoyed our meal and service and would visit again, although we would wish for slightly better value.
