“Excellent drive, bring your hiking shoes too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

The drive is about an hour but if you are looking for a full day bring your hiking gear (and water). Our 4 and 6 year old were able to do a few of the stops but got tired quickly.

There are several places to stop and park with side trails that lead to some incredible waterfalls. The trails range from 3/4 mile to 6 miles (or more). But if you don't want to hike, you can pass right by the limited parking spots.

Please be sure to obey the 10 mile per hour speed limit as there are a number of kids and pedestrians navigating the narrow one lane, one way road.

Don't miss this driving tour, and if you are able, take a hike!!

“Vacation wouldn't be the same without driving the Roaring Fork Motor Trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

If you're not into a slow drive through magnificent woodlands and amazing vistas, you can pass by this site. It's always the first thing we do after breakfast on the first full day of vacation, and I use it to release the stress of the past days and weeks. Stop along a stream or one of the old homesteads. At the end of the road as you leave the Park, be sure to stop by Ely's Mill - they have fabulous local honey.

This was a fun drive and made a wonderful end of the trip! You cannot beat cheap and beautiful!!! Take some time to do this when you are in the area. The falls were really neat as well.

“Great!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

I will definitely go back. Next time I will take more time to explore the walking trails to the waterfalls (about 2 hours one way).

“Superb misterious forest!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

An excellent drive in the middle of the forest! You always hear water falling during the journey, sometimes less, sometimes more; it is a murmuring forest...! Beautiful scenario, tall trees, lots of stops to do by the road to enjoy this marvelous gem. Bridges, little creeks, great great photography! Impossible to miss!! Can't wait to go again!
