Just minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg, the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail offers a unique view of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. From the hiking trails to the historical structures to the scenic vistas and peaceful streams, this is a must-see for everyone visiting the Gatlinburg area.

“Torrentous during rain, and nice fishing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Our TreeTops Resort strides Roaring Fork, and we sleep with the sounds of nature with open doors during spring and fall visits.

Great hiking abounds. The Roaring Fork road through the Great Smokey Mountain National Park offers a short view of greater drama.

The Roaring Fork road to Gatlinburg is a small winding two lane road, and care must always be taken because the cabin and tourist population is dense.

Must do activity in Gatlinburg. Make it even better by getting out of your car and walking some of the trails from the road.

“Great scenic drive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Located just outside Gatlinburg, this is a great scenic drive! I try to travel this motor nature trail on every Great Smoky Mountains trip. In recent trips I have had great luck seeing black bears in this area. Also, this is a great place for novice to pro photographers.

“Always a great place for a camera and tripod”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is one of my favorite places in the Great Smokies National Park. I can happily spend many hours with camera and tripod, wading along the streams photographing the stream, flowers, foliage, etc. Highly recommended!
