I'll start at the beginning: Booked a jacuzzi room with a fireplace, which looked pretty decent on their web site. Check-in went fine. Given our room on the 3rd floor. No elevator. Parking lot was full, so we had to park in a poorly lit overflow parking area. Got to our room and it stunk like cigarette smoke and looked nothing like the photo on the web site. While I know it's a Super 8, I did expect the room to look as their web site pictures indicated. The room was cold (30-degrees upon arrival and no heat had been turned on for us). There was a fireplace (gas with a timer on the wall) and a jacuzzi. Now, for the jacuzzi... the faucet and knobs were on the far lefthead corner of the jacuzzi, so you had to practically crawl over or get in and get your feet wet to turn on the water. The water pressure was horrible and after 45 minutes of the water running full stream with still not enough water to cover the jets, we gave up on that idea. The only shower in the room is in the jacuzzi tub (they have a shower curtain hanging up by the steps). The toilet was in a different little room area, so there was no actual dressing area in the room. The floor was filthy in the toilet area and there were loose tiles lying in the floor by the toilet. There was an old refrigerator under the sink, next to the jacuzzi. The lamp shades on either side of the bed were cracked and ragged appearing. The ironing board was hanging on one wall next to the bed, and the area to hang clothing was on the other wall next to the bed, but the night stand and a lamp were there, so there really wasn't room to hang clothing. There is no private balcony as indicated, but there is the balcony walkway for all the rooms on the 3rd floor and they've crammed some little tables and chairs out there. It isn't private at all. The bedding was fairly comfortable and the sheets appeared clean, but the dust ruffle on the bed was sagging and wadded up in the floor on one side of the bed. The TV was old. The remote did work well. The bathroom linens were dingy looking and scratchy feeling. There was an empty Kleenex container on the bathroom sink upon our arrival. Travel-size shampoo and soap were provided. Our door had no chain lock for safety; there were numerous holes in the door facing where a chain had been. After rigging a chair up to offer ourselves some added security when getting ready for a night's sleep, we turned out the lights to our room and realized it was still like daylight in the room. The jacuzzi suites have a bi-level ceiling with two windows at the top of the arched ceiling and there are no shades or draperies for these windows. They're high enough that you couldn't see out of them and no one could see in them, but they allowed the halogen lighting on the hotel's building across the parking light to shine very brightly into the room. I literally was able to read my novel I brought along with me with no lights on in our room. I killed two or three small bugs in the jacuzzi area while there.
The bottom line is this: This place is a dump... even for a Super 8!!! It definitely isn't worth what they charged, and it was not an enjoyable place to stay for the three days we tolerated it. When we complained, there was a young lady with a foreign accent at the front desk who became very defensive the minute I got the words, "We have some issues" ot of my mouth.
I in my haste to make reservations for a last minute trip forgot to check TripAdvisor this time around, a mistake I have learned from and will not make again.
I have noticed that the manager writes that they are trying to resolve issues and that his responses to any negative reviews go back for months and months. I strongly feel if issues were being resolved, TripAdvisor contributors would not be complaining of the sames issues in review after review. I will not give this place another chance, nor will I give Super 8 another chance because of them even allowing this place to be a franchise of their chain.
I have pictures if anyone is interested in seeing them. I will attempt to post them at a later date since they're saved on another computer.
