“no breakfast”

We were taking our daughters down to gatlinburg for the weekend. We got on bookitnow and saw how cheap the rates were for red carpet inn so we booked a room for the weekend. It advertised a free breakfast so my youngest daughter and i got up the first morning and no breakfast, we hadn't brought anything to eat so we had to go down to shoney's and have breakfast. The room had grasshoppers in it,towels were smelly and dirty,it adve..rtised that it was in the central of downtown gatlinburg right, that's if you like a 10 mile hike to everything.Overall in my opinion it's not worth it,if your looking to save a few bucks stay in the rodeway skyland it's a much better hotel for the money.

Upon arriving at the Red Carpet Inn in Gatlinsburg which is a bit tricky to find due the streets there, we got checked in all right and entered the room. Appeared to be somewhat clean but a bit haphazardly so. The room looked like wallpaper had recently been hung but very poorly as it was coming off the wall in a few spots. Also checked to see what was on HBO that night as there was a guide on the side table.. there was no HBO we found out soon enough. What was th point of the guide if they don't have HBO?? All that put aside the first night went okay.

The second evening at the pool an employee who can roam freely around the guests after working hours, ( he was the housekeeper ) made some comments which I won't detail here but none the less were very inappropriate staff to guest interactions.

The next day we left our room to go to breakfast leaving the drapes open so staff would know we were gone. Upon return the drapes were closed but nothing done in the room. Upon questioning management, two different "owners" said they had removed towels before staff entered to clean and that was their policy. Okay except that the dirty towels were still in the room. We were also informed there was a problem with the water and it would be off for awhile. Things happen so this was understandable enough.
We left again for the day returning in the evening to find the dirty towels still in the room but the bed was made and towels were not refreshed. Had to go to Front Desk to get some for morning. When we went to use the jacuzzi tub that night there was no hot water and it was obvious the tub had not been cleaned from the first night we had used it.

Very unsatisfied with the housekeeping of the room in general and the line of "bull" given us regarding the entry of our room for no reason and doing nothing while they were there. Nothing appeared to be amiss however but how do I really know what they were doing in there?

Our visit to Gatlinsburg was great and we plan to return but not to The Red Carpet Inn.
