“Oktoberfest Lives”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Really enjoyed brats, kraut, and Wiener schnitzel. We ate at the bar and although he was very busy, Michael took good care of us. The also had a live oompa band. Good times!

“Just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Well, the bar was nothing to brag about.
Advertising German, they are VERY limited on beer. The restaurant was ok but nothing special.
Still enjoyed out time up there since there are other things to do, i.e. ice skating, alpine slides, kids rides, shops, etc. We went twice, so I obviously didn't hate it lol.

“A little disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

I had seen the reviews and knew it was a "mixed bag" but we had a coupon for free parking and 25% off the meal- and the items on the menu looked good, plus we could walk around Ober Gatlinburg. it was off season and Ober G was practically empty, and the reatuarant even more so. Only one other couple the entire time we were there in restaurant ( we were there from 6 to 7 PM on a Sat night), and 1 couple in the adjoining lounge. 2 servers- the other one was very friendly and kept and on going conversation with the couple she was serving. Ours was professional, but went in the lounge and hung out w/ his buddies when not directly serving us.
Salads just ok- nothing special and they were $4.95! My husg=band had the ribeye- flavorful
but very tough. I had the Pasta Primevera- the veggies were good but the sauce was so bland I kept heaping on the salt to give it some taste. Said it was a creamy tomato pesto, but tasted like overcooked diced tomatoes, with the juice removed- and no creamy to it. Although I got a piece of garlic bread w/ the entree- I think offering bread with the salad would have been good. My husband got no bread
with his meal. We did have a good view however- but only a few tables in the restaurant have access to that view. Prices about average for Gatlinburg ( which means pricey)
Would not go again even with a coupon. The other issue for us ( 60+) was lots of stairs to climb to get to it. They need an elevator.

“Okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

At the time we ate at the restaurant it wasn't busy at all so our wait time was minimal. The food was good but pricey for such. Service was good however better to grab a snack and eat at a restaurant down the mountain.

“Good View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

I was disappointed with this restaurant. The prices are closer to a better restaurant (Rib-eye was $23) but the atmosphere is closer to a large cafeteria. The food was good and the view is very nice. The waitress was new but knew the menu well and made excellent recommendations.
