“A great time was had by all”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

I went to Bent Creek on a REI Exchange, I invited a family of six to join us and rented 3 units. The check in procedure was quick, pleasant and informative. The units were very clean, well equipped some with hot tub and Jacuzzi and very comfortable. I had a need to call maintenance and they responded quickly and were very polite. The indoor outdoor pools were nice as was the large indoor spa. We had four young children with us and they enjoyed the small play ground area as well as the large open field where they played ball. There are outdoor BBQ areas both gas and charcoal with tables to eat on. The only drawback some one may have is its remoteness but to us that was a plus

Room Tip: from what I could see there are now bad rooms

My dad and brother joined me for a weekend golf trip to Bent Creek. This place was centrally located for all three of use. Not knowing what to expect when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. The condos around the grounds were very nice. We all stayed in a 1-bedroom suite and it was plenty big. We are all over 6-3" tall and the place was huge. I did bring my air mattress though. The condo was perfect for prepping the food for the grill, and it also has a full kitchen and comes fully equipped with all plates/cutlery needed. We grilled out each night just outside our condo. We brought steaks and sides for each night. The golf course was also nice. For what you pay ($50 including cart) you can't beat it. The front 9 is more traditional as it is in the valley. The back 9 gets into the mountains and there are short par 4's that require 150 - 175 yard lay-ups off the tee. But the views and course are beautiful. The greens were a bit on the slow side, but very smooth and it allowed you to get aggressive with you lines. The fairways were plush and very nice. My only advice would be to bring bug spray. They don't take away from the experience but just annoying. All in all, if you are looking for a guys golf getaway this place is affordable and centrally located to Atlanta, Charlotte, and Nashville (3.5 hrs). Bring good steaks and scotch and you will want to come back.

This was a great venue. We had a one bedroom unit with complete kitchen including, blender, toaster, coffee maker, wine glasses, non stick cookware, cookie sheet....almost everything you could need. However, you need to shop for groceries in Gatlinburg, about 20 minutes away as there are only small, overpriced stores nearby. The outdoor pool was not open while we were there, but it looked fairly large. While the units do have washers and dryers, there is only one portion of laundry soap so if you want to launder you own clothes, you will need to bring more. there were 6 portions of dishwasher soap, regular dishwashing soap, towels and pot holders.
The bathroom was adequately equipped with towels, hairdryer, and soaps. There were ceiling fans in both the living room and bedroom and the windows opened and had screens.
We played the golf course, it is impossible. It was overpriced and there were no towels, tees, bag people or water. Many of the holes required pin point precision. The front nine is boring and the back nine is like a sic-fi creation. If you are staying for the golf here, don't bother. If you are looking for a great place to stay in that area, this would be it.

Stayed here over the past weekend with family. We had reserved one of their 2BR lock-off condos. Professionalism of check in staff, extent of in-room amenties, cleanliness of the rooms, maintencance of common areas, eveything exceeded our expectation! We thoroughly impressed. This was a great find for us and is a place we would love to return to!

This is a Diamond Resorts International property. Every detail of our stays have been beyond our expectations. The resort is quiet and well maintained with an attentive and unintrusive staff that has shown us extreme courtesy. I am not surprised, as I know something about the CEO of this exemplary organization (Stephen Cllobeck), you may have seen him on undercover boss. No disapointments here, we will forever be comming back to this gem of a destibation!

Room Tip: See if a unit is available with a Jacuzzi!

Bent Creek is a *quiet* gem located just outside of Gatlinburg (10mins). Staff are helpful and friendly, the units are clean and furnished with comfy chairs, new carpet. Stayed in a 1BR dlx overlooking the golf course. Ours had a a jetted tub and gas fireplace. Separate QN bedroom, and a pull-out couch in the LR. Large screened porch overlooking the 1st fairway and creek- we could hear it quietly in the evenings when we sat on the porch.

Both pools (indoor&out) are nice, we used the hot tubs after hiking at nearby Smoky Mt. Natl. park. Exercise equipment was good, and the grounds are maintained well. Cell coverage is not good, (it's hard to get a signal even outside of the units) so plan on using the unit phone if needed. We travel often, this is a great, quiet place, we'll be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a 1 BR deluxe room on the golf course. They are about 40% larger w/ screened porches, firepl...

HOSPITALITY: I can't say enough about the people who work at this resort. We got last minute reservations at a very busy time for the resort - Easter weekend. We had several units for our party involving different check-ins and check-outs - thus we had a lot of coordinating to do! Behind the scenes, the management (Beth, Marsha, Stacy) worked hard at making our "puzzle" of unit stays work well. At the front desk, the 3 gentlemen (Tristan, Jonathan, and Kevin) greeted everyone with a smile and made us feel welcome. They also were very patient with special requests and questions:) Maintenance (Jared & Bob) were quick to respond and took care of any issue that arose - each of them minor, but they were there within 10 minutes. Jared even helped me carry out things from my cabin when it was time to move to another unit! The Concierge (Jessie & Diana) were so friendly and made fabulous suggestions for things for us to do. No pressure from either of them to attend the owner update!

UNITS: We stayed in several different types of units during our stay and our favorite were the Deluxe GOLF units - best location and nicely laid out. The kitchen, living room, and dining area are all in one large room, giving it a more spacious feel. They have a screened-in porch overlooking the golf course and a babbling stream - ahhh, true relaxation. The Deluxe units have both a deck with chairs AND a screened in porch with either a hot tub or table and chairs. The bedroom is located next to the living room and the windows open up onto the screened-in porch. The galley kitchen is small, but functional with a round table right next to it. These units have a large garden tub in the bathroom and an extra sink in the bedroom. The cabins are great with your own hot tub and grill on the back deck, but the kitchen is small and the cabins are next to a busy road - so if that kind of noise bothers you - wouldn't recommend them. It was fun having our own gas grill to cook our meals and enjoy dining together outside, however.

The units themselves are nice and clean. Queen beds in most, so that is disappointing if you are used to sleeping in a king bed - I understand some units do have king beds, but they are limited. I appreciate the comfort of the beds at the Diamond Resorts properties and these met those expectations. The living room furniture could stand to be replaced in both the deluxe and golf deluxe units - they just remodeled the cabins, so the living room furniture in those was very comfortable.

LOCATION: Located away from the chaos of Gatlinburg, but close enough to drive there in 20 minutes. The resort is across the street from the Smoky Mountain Park, however the closest entrance is about 10 minutes away - Greenbriar entrance. Other entrances are at least a 20 minute drive or more. We are not fans of the "strip" of Gatlinburg, so this was the perfect location for us. Since it is located on a golf course, it is in a more quiet and serene setting.

FOOD: We did not eat out while there, as we eat organic - those restaurants not usually found in this area. We brought all of our food since we didn't know what to expect as far as grocery shopping. For those of you who also eat organic - Food City has limited organic fresh fruits and veggies - they also have organic cage free eggs. Whole Earth Grocery has limited fresh & frozen foods and also a good selection of gluten free Bob's Red Mill products. They carry a nice selection of spices and other canned/packaged items.

We will definitely return to this resort - it was a very relaxing stay - so much that I extended my stay with them for a couple extra nights!
