we didnt really know what to expect but overall it was a wonderfull hotel we stayed on the 7th floor had a beatiful view very quiet nice quiet place to relax outside one of the highest point in gat we could look straightr out our balcony and see over the space needle and look directly at the incline has three seperate indoor pools a one foot a three foot and a six foot pool.trolly runs every thirty minutes if you dont want to drive. the hotel is round so your view depends on what side and level tou stay on,the hotel itself is very clean the carpet could be replced in places.but heres the reason i give them a high rating we had three children 2,4,10 the 4 year old left his 200 dollar video game plus games in the room and we didnt know it til we got home and unpacked which was 12 hors later we called the hotel they told usthey had it and were shipping it to us cod .to me that absolutey amazed me so the next time we go i know without a doubt where we will stay

“The staff at the desk was collectively a total waste of human flesh.”

Park Vista Resort Hotel

Jul 9, 2008

The hotel condition was ok. Toward the end of our stay, the room next to ours contained occupants that smoked. Given that Tennessee has laws against smoking in public buildings, that was ridiculous. The staff at the desk was useless. Any question we had, whether it be about local attractions, the trolley, a restaurant, etc. - they refused to answer. We added a night due to the schedule at a convention changing. When I handled all this the clerk assured me that the amount was correct and went over the revised bill line by line. Upon check-out, I was told I still owed +$20. Even though the clerk admitted that the clerk that processed my bill was in error, they refused to wave the charge. That was the final straw for me. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. There are better hotels for cheaper rates all throughout Gatlinburg. It's not worth the extra money. The trolley is a hassle and you're too far away from everything to walk - not to mention you couldn't walk up the mountain unless you're a well trained climber. Don't stay here.

“Kids loved it”

Park Vista Resort Hotel

Jul 6, 2008

It was true what they say you do indeed get a great view of the mountains as long as they do put you in one of those rooms. If you book through an internet travel agent, let me give you a bit of advice, do not register early, you will get the worst room possible . We asked if it was "ok" to check in early and they said of course. We get to our room and we are looking at the dirty rooftops of the employee parking. Being a fiery red head, my face matching that color by the time I went back down to the lobby, they did accomadate us to a nice view of the mountains. They said they gave us that room because we checked in early (funny how they didn't mention that to us earlier). Also the first person that I went up to to check in was a bit rude, our last restroom stop on the road was 4 hours ago, and I really needed to use the restroom, so I asked where the lobby restrooms were and he told me and then yelled out "run Forest Gump run" (rude).

The rooms are nice enough, but the carpeting is really dirty looking. Dirty enough that we did not feel comfortable running around in our bare feet. This may be because of the balconies they are cement and standing rain is there and bird droppings. Balconies are at least 5 feet tall, that is a good thing if you have kids. The bathrooms are teensy weeny. Bathtub and toilet in one room (just enough to do your business), and sink is in the part where you hangers and shelf are.

The rooms are super quiet, we even had a dog next door that continually cried for its family (yappy dog). Turn on the air or the fan and you cannot hear anything. Dogs are everywhere if you have allergies do not stay here.

Pool is ok, bottom pool frigid compared to the top pool. Outside play area for the kids. The trail that other reviews have talked about, are on property the hotel sold to cabins, you take a chance of trespassing if you go on these. Lobby is very nice, outside area waiting for the trams nice enough.

Restraunt has quite a bit of selections, just as expensive as any other nice restraunt. Room Service is a bit pricey. They have a pizza place also that seems really expensive.

The glass elevators kids loved. Our stay was ok, not the best, some of employees (mosty behind the desk) rude. Housekeeping very nice. Trolley was nice to have for the trip to Gatlinburg. DO NOT take trolley to Pigeon Forge it will take all day, drive- there is lots and lots of parking and they do not charge.

    • Liked — The view and away from all the noise.
    • Disliked — The look of being dirty, they really need to replace the carpeting.

We normally rent a cabin, but decided this time to book a hotel for a one night stay. This hotel is very nice, especially for the price. Would be impossible to walk to the strip (unless you have a deathwish), but the trolley comes up to the hotel to pick you up. Room was clean and comfortable and view from the balcony was great. Will definately stay again. Did not get chance to use pool/hotub or outdoor grounds.

Have visited Gatlinburg many times. Decieded to be different from usual motel types. Found the hotel reasonably clean and had that large hotel impressiveness. Did not eat there but used hotel as a base to go to other places and sights. Good change of pace. Would I stay there again? May be if something on the river was not available. Balconey views are exceptional.
