“very nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

nice and clean. helpful staff. we were there in the winter on the top floor, and it was a little warmer than what i like it. Bar closes early. the river runs next to it and it is very well located where you can walk anywhere. Breakfast did not had many choices but it was good.

Room Tip: in the winter stay away from top floors to avoid the rising heat

Green Features: Very nice place... will stay here again. LEED certified building makes this place a plus.

We had a great stay at the Hilton. The breakfast was not included, but made fresh to order, as well as a good selection on the buffet. The room was brand-new, and had several upgrades. We had a fireplace and jacuzzi in the main room. It was quiet and the staff was awesome. I work 3rd shift, and am on a later schedule...and they had no issue with us checking out at 1pm...which is unusual. I would go back...how about tomorrow?

Room Tip: Get a room on the 5th floor, overlooking the river.

If you want a nice, clean hotel right in the heart of it all, this is the place to be! Our room was perfect except for the water pressure, but that's because they are eco-friendly. It didn't bother me, but my wife wasn't happy. We had a fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and balcony overlooking the mountains and creek. One suggestion, don't show up early! We arrived right on time to check-in and our room still wasn't ready. We only had to wait 15 minutes though.

Room Tip: A balcony room is worth it all!

I can't even begin to say how wonderful of an expierence we had with this hotel. My boyfriend & I went for a 3 day vacation and the Hilton made our trip truly wonderful! We arrived early (around noon) and check in wasn't until 4, but our room was ready and they were happy to let us check in early!! Our room was beautiful (room 419!!) it was one of the king bed rooms with fireplace/balcony/jacuzzi. Our balcony overlooked the creek and it was awesome to wake up to! The decor in the rooms, and the entire hotel in general, is really modern but cozy. The LOCATION IS PERFECT!! Walking distance to everything, and the tram to Ober Gatlinburg is literally steps away. Each night, we would get in the outdoor jacuzzi by the fire and there were always other travellers out, which was great because we made new friends!! They also let you drink alcohol/wine out by the fire/jacuzzi as long as it's in a plastic cup.

The second part of my review is going to be about the on site restaurant/bar (The Great American Grill)...This place deserves 10 stars!! Every day they have happy hour from 5-7 with $2 drinks (that includes blue moon on tap, people) and half price appetizers. The beer is the coldest you can get, and tastes so good! The food is wonderful. Even when it's not happy hour, the food is reasonably priced (much cheaper than going to one of the touristy restraunts). During happy hour, we got wings with their homemade kentucky bourbon sauce and they were only $4 (for a very large order) and they were WONDERFUL! We also had their homemade queso dip (also delicious) which was a large order for only $3.... that's dinner for $7.00 total!! The bartender, Olivia, really knows her stuff and is a lot of fun. We made friends with Tony, the manager, and all of the cooks who were all super helpful and friendly. Each day we would look forward to 5:00 so we could go hang out at the bar!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and can't wait to return!! A big thumbs up to the Hilton Garden Inn Gatlinburg!!

Room Tip: Spend the extra money to get one of the rooms with a balcony, as they overlook the beautiful river...

This hotel was a nice Hilton Property, private and away from the busy maIn street of downtown. Our room had a fireplace, but no view except of the parking lot. We had a couples massage by a local mobile massage therapist named Roger Bailey (ph # 865-250-0676) which was very relaxing and a much needed stress reliever. We enjoyed our walk through the park and shopping downtown. We attended happy hour and took our drinks outside but were never offered our free drink. Our breakfast at the buffet was very good.If the bed was more comfortable and the receptionist checking us in was more knowledgable about our reservation, this would have been a great hotel experience.

Room Tip: Ask the receptionist if you can try the bed out before you stay in that room. Make sure you receive...

I recently stayed here with two teens for Spring break. We had spent two nights in Pigeon Forge and decided to travel over to Gatlinburg. We did not have a reservation and was happy they could still accomdate us on short notice. I happened to be driving downtown and just walked in to see if they had any vacancies. We lucked up and they booked us for the night. We were informed that check in wasn't until 4pm, so we were given a parking pass for the hotel and decided to walk the strip to pass time. When we returned, the room was not quite ready, and they offered us complimentary breakfast to make up for it. This was great, because breakfast runs you about $10pp. Oh.. and did mention they do offer a decent military rate!

The hotel was very nice. Great dining, I had dinner that night and breakfast the next day.
I think the only downside to this hotel is the indoor pool is a bit small. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: My room was 411, so I'm not sure what side of the building that is on, but there is no view of t...

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Gatlinburg Downtown. We picked this hotel for a couple of reasons. Great location and free cookies! The hotel was very nice -- really cool decor. I loved the atmosphere. We did not have time to enjoy the firepit outside, but it was really cool looking. We chose to have a room higher up and facing the river. Great choice too! Although we ended up with a room right near the elevator doors, the rooms were extremely quiet and we could not hear much of anything outside our room. Which was a definitely plus! The room smelled a little bit musty. Our room refrigerator did not seem to be working, so we had to call the front desk upon our arrival. They must have fixed it while we were out because it seemed to have worked from then on. The front desk clerks were on the bit of the snobby side, in my opinion. The rooms were pretty clean for the most part. I did find a couple things on our floor that did not belong to us upon our arrival, but that was about it. The beds were really comfy (but why do all hotels have to have super squishy pillows??) We did not have good service at the bar. Upon our arrival, we wanted to treat ourselves to a drink. We waited at the bar for someone to take our order. A man showed up and said he would get someone for us, but after waiting for quiet some time, no one showed up. So, we left the bar without ordering anything. That was a bit disappointing. We had breakfast at the hotel just once. The food was just okay, but the ladies working in the resaurant area, were very pleasant and kind and that was much appreciated. The free cookies at the front desk were a nice touch. Although we only got chocolate chip cookies once (the other times were oatmeal cookies), we still enjoyed them. The pool was nice. We very much enjoyed the LOCATION of this hotel. We were able to walk most places down the main strip. As other reviewer's mentioned the hardship of having to walk through the parking lot to get to the main street, we did not mind that one bit. We enjoyed the walk. My family and I enjoyed our time in Gatlinburg and we would recommend this hotel!
