We checked in for a 6 night stay. First 3 nights in a non-smoking 2 queen "mountain view" room and the next 3 nights in a non-smoking king room "creekside" with fireplace and in room "jacuzzi". Both rooms were very clean which is the number 1 priority for both my wife and I. The 2 queen room was on the 4th floor looking east at the parking lots and a partial mountain view. Everything we expect from a Hampton room. After the 3rd night we packed up and stored our luggage with the front desk. They offered to move our luggage via maids when the king room was ready. We chose to leave our luggage at the desk ourselves and when we returned from our day out our luggage had already been moved into our new room. The king, fireplace, creekside room was roomy and had a balcony overlooking the small creek with a small table and 2 chairs. The room (s) are in need of a remodel (old fixtures, worn carpeting, etc), but the housekeeping staff does a good job of keeping everything as clean and nice as possible. We were on the 2nd floor not far from the lobby. Here's where it got interesting. We are both non smokers and just our luck we had a smoke fiend in the room below us and every time we opened the door to listen to the creek and get fresh air Mr Marlboro was puffing away! The creekside rooms also overlook a small side street on the other side of the creek which was very noisy especially on the weekend nights and being close to the main drag out front we could hear the traffic and pedestrians from there also. This is not the place for a quiet getaway! The air conditioner was very loud upon startup and went on and off quite frequently but we tolerated it because we both like "white noise." But I'm sure many people would consider this a big annoyance. The fireplace is on a hour timer and was a nice romantic touch. Never used the in room Jacuzzi (big tub) because we can never get out of our heads the picture of the many guests before us enjoying this nice amenity.
The hotel employees were friendly for the most part but the front desk personnel sometimes gave us the feeling of not being in a happy frame of mind. I mention this only because you may observe the same.
The breakfast area was well stocked with everthing you would want for a breakfast. Everything was fresh and abundant even at busy times. The attendant was busy keeping it up. The area has a lot of tables as Hamptons go and even an outside "veranda" for addition seating for the hardy ones during the cold mornings while we were there. The morning temperature was 37 one morning, brrrrr, especially for a Floridian!
The parking was crowded at times but we parked on the roof lot off the main area and never had trouble finding a spot.
The grounds were clean. The pool was fairly small for a hotel this size and one day we observed the water pretty cloudy. Just one day though.
This hotel is very convenient to all attractions/restaurants and especially to the smokies. You need patience getting in and out to the Parkway from the hotel. I can just imagine the area during busy times.
We are returning to the smokies again soon and yes, we would definitely consider staying here again.
