“Great location, nice room, but noisy and slow WiFi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012 via mobile

The Positives-I can't imagine a better location in Gatlinburg...close to everything, within walking distance of most attractions. Room was nice, with most things new or like new, nice balcony overlooking creek (except there's a road and another hotel just on the other side of the creek), nice whirlpool bath, nice gas fireplace, comfortable bed (pillows not so much), parking is free, and breakfast bar was good. Staff helpful and friendly.

The Negatives-Walls are thin and I couldn't get the heat unit fan to stay "on" to drown out the noise from screaming tourists outside to guests arriving at all hours of the night, to noisy service vehicles, so that made for a restless night. The WiFi was so slow (room 201 very close to office), so doing anything on the Internet was nearly impossible. Somewhat pricey, although everything in Gatlinburg seemed to be expensive, but the fact that parking, Internet (if it had worked better) and breakfast was included helped a little.

Despite the negatives, I would stay again.

Visited here in the past and gave it 3 stars last time - said the hotel was nice but not as nice as the reviews made it out to be. That is again true this time. I do not understand reviewing this hotel above 2 or 3 stars.
The hotel stated it recently went under remodeling - but that was not evident in the rooms at all - many cracks in room 103, bathroom floor cracked as well in the tile. Bathroom definitely needed the most upgrading.
Wifi was terrible - in the lobby it was fine, but not in the rooms, and we were only 3 doors down from the lobby.
Was not welcomed as a gold/diamond hilton member - not a big deal here, but read that in a past review and noticed it during check in as well. Asked for a top floor room and received a bottom floor (when there appeared to be lots of vacancies).
The rooms open to the parking lot - knew that coming in, but still a negative with lots of noise from the lot and other people walking.
The walls are very thin hearing everything around you.

Positives - staff mostly friendly, hotel clean. breakfast very nice. location fantastic - right on the strip in Gatlinburg. Stayed here now twice, do not think will stay again, but may if the rate is right, just will require a top floor room, and hope they have better wifi.

Room Tip: top floor a must, creek view nice.

Older hotel badly in need of renovation. Carpets were dirty, air conditioning vent coming out of wall. Noise from service trucks were very loud late at night. wake up call missed twice during the stay. Doors to rooms open to the outside. Limited parking. Hotel staff could care less when comments were made ot them. We are Hilton diamond members and the staff never recognized it.

The only real positive was the location of the property. This hotel could be very nice with a complete renovation and the staff becoming more customer service oriented.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay at our hotel. We appreciate your feedback and we’re very sorry you were unhappy with your guest room as well as some of our other facilities. Guest feedback is incredibly important to us and we are taking your comments into consideration as we improve our on-property experience.

We recently spent $2 million dollars renovating our hotel. The renovation was complete in May of this year. We did make the maintenance staff aware of the problem with the bathroom vent, and that has been taken care of. We certainly want to control the things that we can, and apologize that we missed the bathroom vent and your wake up calls.

I assure you that our staff does care, and apologize that you felt like we did not. I will pass along your comments to our staff in an effort to improve our customer service.

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience you may have had and I hope you give us another opportunity to serve you, if your travels bring you back to our area. If you would like to provide me with additional information concerning your stay, or have any questions please contact me at christie.jordan@hilton.com or via phone at 865-436-4878.

Sincerely,
Christie Jordan

We stayed for a couple of nights during Thanksgiving holiday. It's very close to many atractions and restaurants. So we practically didn't have to drive sverywhere except when we went to Pigeon Forge. The staffs were also very friendly. Definitely will stay there again in our next visit.

This hotel has recently been remodeled. It has the lovely new linens and furniture. The location lets you walk to all your favorite fudge shops and tacky stores. If you go right from the hotel there is an awesome outdoors store with a rock wall and a hanging bridge inside. The best thing is they serve krispie kreme donuts at breakfast. The only negatives are that the rooms are small and there is no mirror except the one in the bathroom, which is tough if you are traveling with a teenager. The lobby is very nice with a welcoming fireplace.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a fireplace but since the room is small I am not sure how enjoyable that would be.

We stopped by during a random trip coming from Kentucky, didn't plan ahead and were pleasantly surprised. Our goal was to find a decent not too expensive room within walking distance of the strip of shops and attractions. This was perfect, we were there during a cold front so the fireplace was great, the bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom was great. We even had a balcony overlooking a small river. Very nice, and I paid about $100 for the night. Complimentary Breakfast in the morning was perfect, homemade waffles, fresh fruits, bacon, eggs mmmm mmmm, not a crappy little stale bagels and cereal free breakfast, this was worth the $20 we saved by not having to go buy breakfast, so your looking at $80 for a semi-luxurious room well worth $140 a night..

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river with a fireplace!
